How to play "weak" AA** in the SB, or OOP How to play "weak" AA** in the SB, or OOP

hi,

i´m struggling to play AA** Hands in the small blind or in general OOP.

Would you 3bet every kind of AA combos, also the "weak" ones, like AA27rainbow? What is your play, cold call, or even fold?

My thoughts:

Ok, i have the highest equity preflop (against ~ CO, BU), so i should 3bet. But to realize fold-equity on the small stakes seems like a unattainable task to me.

OTF, i´m almost always dead with AA and no (re)draws.

Even against a very low SPR OTF against a short stack, i´m not happy to GII.

I appreciate any helpful comments.

Reraise gii against smaller stack, majority is just flat call

You can 3b if you manage to put more than 1/3 stack in preflop. So basically only v short.

Most of the time bad AA is a call OOP. Your set - when hit- will be concealed and you should get a max value. Rest depends more on your side cards and opponents

No matter what form of poker, position is important. Being oop puts u in ultimate -ve ev state, unless you're against superb fishy villians, u can't even extract max value with good hands...

This question is too vague and general to result in anything worthwhile. It really is close to "how do I play PLO", ya know..

In general you do want to 3b those hands, yes. And then where you take it on the flop comes down to the texture of the flop and how it interacts with your 3b range as a whole vs villains opening range. Which is where we suddenly land in "how do I play PLO"-land again.

As said above it depends on a number of factors - against solid opponents i prefer flatting weak AAxx in sb as it disguises the top set. Against short stacks im happy to iso. Against loose deep stacked im happy to call also unless i have smooth aces AATJ ds etc

I agree to the version of calling with rag AA OOP not having an opportunity to invest 33% of your stack to jam on most flops (except for tragedies like T98 KQJ and etc.)
the most dumb thing in poker is construct huge pot with rag hand and then just fold your hand having no more option
all in all I'd highly recommend the TS to watch PLO Quick Pro as it answers such questions very quick and with pure clarity
