Hey guys. I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with this product. I kind of feel I'm not very good on later streets especially on turn / river, probably also flop.

Is it still relevant for today's games? I saw that reviews for it were dating back for quite some time. So I'm wondering if strategies there are even close to semi balanced or based on "if his fold to flop c-bet is more than ... we bet every time" or we do take in account what blockers or future blockers we have before firing a c-bet. If fold to c-bet stat is way above some number - great we c-bet like a ton and don't care about anything, but what if it's not auto c-bet anymore we are left with "what am I supposed to do here" feeling. Also on Zoom there are tons of unknown players so its good to have some quite balanced gameplan.

Any experience with this 'PLO QuickPro Win$1k' course would be much appreciated

Yes. Its regurgitated and watered down info from Tom Chambers books that were released in 2010.

Also john beauprez hasn't played PLO seriously in many years

Every single piece of his course can be found for free here and on donkr, etc

But would the info still be relevant in today's games or basically useless now? I'm kind of struggling to find good learning materials and I consider watching videos where the coach is saying "I feel I could ... at this spot" close to useless as well.

Yea it might be overpriced but if the info would help it would still be worth it maybe. Is Tom Chambers book still relevant for today's games (not that I would consider buying it for 2.5k )?

I feel like I can only win if I hit good hands and my non showdown winnings is going south and its kind of depressing now knowing what are the places I'm doing it all wrong.

One thing you can do is stop playing zoom while you're still starting out.

Zoom is fun and great for volume, but I've never felt it to be a true representation of what omaha really is. People play tighter on the whole, looser in ridiculous spots they shouldn't and it just feels wrong most of the time I'm playing it lol.

Look into ring games to get your feet wet, and then once you're comfortable, step back into zoom.

As someone mentioned, look into the donkr series as starting point and sift through old threads on here.

john beauprez seems like a great guy. that said, i strongly recommend a RIO membership, there is a plethora of PLO content on there by the best in the world. they have the best content in the industry

what about janedez, his youtube videos are pretty legit

part of the trouble is that people played PLO a lot differently five years ago, and many coaching books/vids are dated. they were still playing really well, and you can learn a lot from them. since the introduction of more sophisticated solvers like monker in the past couple years PLO strat has become more refined and you really want to find coaching material that is 'up to date.' Jnandez is for sure IMO

So RIO's PLO vids are a bit outdated? I also saw in one comment recently (I don't remember about which training sites vids it was) that the coach recording the vid told in many spots that he was rusty, "feel" like he could have played hand differently and stuff like that.

That being said if the video is like that about feeling stuff I don't benefit from it in any way (except for some entertainment value while eating chips) coz I too can feel a lot of stuff even when developing consistent winrate of -10 BB / 100. The vid should teach me the simple +EV plays that happens like every hand not feeling it differently every other hand or discussing some 4-bet pot with specific hands that happens like once every 1000 hands.

That being said now I'm looking at Tom Chambers postflop stuff, specifically flop at the moment. Compared to PLO QuickPro its not even that expensive and at least I might get something out of it. Haven't bought it yet but probably will soon.

whatever you choose i think you cant go wrong if your learning from someone who is beating todays games at 500plo and up.

RIO has tons of new content, in fct i think they put out one vid a day but its not always plo.

Tom chambers also have a massive amount of videos on RIO.

I feel the more I learn the more I loose. Feel like I would archieve better winrate by only knowing the rules and playing for the 1st time. This can't be just variance right. Probably have some massive leaks.

COMMON LEAK: doing things poker coaches do without understanding why they do it.

The thing I find tough is having a direction in learning, I feel like courses are the better way to go than a "standard" training site where a coach post a video once or twice a week where you might be learning 2 different topics that are not really relevant to each other.

i think thats probably true when you starting out, but RIO would be the acception to a standard site since they have modules for every game type, and their archive of content is so enormous that you can find tons of videos for anything you want to learn.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend people to watch Tom Coldwell or Sam Lang or most presolver video.
Also wouldn’t recommend people to try to play like galfond.

In all seriousness, I definitely think Win1k would be a perfect fit for your game if you're a beginning player or someone looking to master the fundamentals. Is it the most advanced course out there? Of course not. Would Win1k be the right fit for someone who's crushing 500Z on stars? Definitely not. Is it the right fit for someone struggling to get out of the micros, or a live player looking to crush soft live games? Yes, without a doubt.

I think JNandez stuff is awesome (I have a membership there and have made one video late last year on his site). I would absolutely get a membership to his site and although I haven't watched many videos on RIO in the past couple years, Phil's quality standards are high and I know many of the pros on there have proven track records and can absolutely provide you with valuable info.

Focus less on "is this the right course/site for me" and focus more on putting in volume. Undoubtedly you'll learn more from grinding than you will from books and vids. I wouldn't do more than 30-60 mins of studying per day. Remember the key is to become great at playing poker.. Not studying it or speaking about it. Play as much as you can particularly if you're playing well and winning. Play less when you're losing. The most successful players I know are putting in tons of volume and talking with other high level players. If you can't afford a coach seek out someone better than you and do whatever you can to gain help from them (offer to run sims for them in exchange for letting them look over some trouble areas for example).

If you're starting at the low stakes I'd work through your game one area at a time. Start with preflop opening ranges (preflop mistakes compound to later streets). Then move to playing reraised pots (mistakes in 3b+ pots are critical since more bb's at stake). Once you have preflop down start focusing on strategy on a variet of board textures.

I spent $1500 to buy two courses from John Beauprez in 2014. They were supposed to be unlimited access. Now he's locked me out of both courses and just ignores my emails for access. I've sent about 6 emails with the course invoices and the only thing I got back from support is "case closed" with no explanation. This appears to be a very low level of integrity and makes anything he's selling very suspect. Buyer beware!

I had this problem aswell, but i talked to John and he explained that the site had done a few system moves since 2014, so email the support again(support@ploquickpro.com ) and i'm sure they will fix it, they did it for me atlest tho it took 2 emails before they got back to me.

Also John and Phil Galfond are two of the people i respect the most in the poker community and they are the last people to try to rip people of so just relax.

The only coach who doesn't have screennames public who knows what the **** they are talking about is Phil Rocquemore, stop giving charlatans who haven't been online pros in nearly a decade relatively large sums of money for information that basically boils down to: play tight and value bet when you make strong hands.
