Do you guys differ your preflop strategy much for the cap games?

Do you bluff more/less often on the TT6 77J suited or connected boards?

Do you 3 bet more/less often with the drawy hands?

Do you get it in significantly lighter?

Go for many check raises on the flop or lead?

Played a cap game for a bit today and ran hot but realized that a lot of people were jamming it in with bottom 2 or naked non-nut flush draws ect. I wasn't sure how much to change strategy from the normal games. Opinions are appreciated.

Take anything i say with a grain of salt. I have been doing well but have not played a ton of capped hands.

I call alot where I would normally 3 bet unless I have AAxx, AKKx, AKQJ type hands.

I bluff less often on paired boards b/c ppl coldcall alot more with much weaker/random holdings.

You are nearly always priced in to call with your draw if there was action preflop - so you should bet imo to at least give you opponent the opportunity to fold a 'made' hand.

I'm more inclined to get it in with top and bottom pairs/bottom 2 sometimes on an uncoordinated boards - so yes I get it in lighter often.

C/R the preflop raiser with made hands rather than lead since he is generally stuck calling drawing very thin but would fold to a lead.

I don't play cap, but 1 of my roomates this summer crushed 25-50, 50-100 cap playing a rediculously aggressive donkish unoptimal style, imo. He may have been on a sick heater tho. Or he may have crushed by putting pressure on his opponents, getting lots of folds for 10 bbs while only getting it in bad for 40, i'm not sure.

Definitely a heater. So much bad players at CAP tables, but the variance is really sick. Played like 10K hands last month at 5/10 and ran at 15BB/100 despite running significantly bellow EV. In CAP you have to appreciate more your big pairs and suited aces w/ high cards and less small rundowns because pots are often multiway allin on the flop and rundowns are easily dominated by bigger rundowns or higher flush draws.

getting it in preflop with any suited ace is probably a winner.

aside from the bad players at a cap game... does the game not play like a normal plo 6max game with 40 BB stack?

i guess if everyone at the table had a 40bb stack at the normal game. You cant get protection from bigger stacks folding each other out because everyone is on the same 40bb stack. Also if someone stacks you they dont now have 80bbs at risk its still just 40.

From what i've seen people take one of two strategies. They limp a lot and only make a raise when someone else has raised and they can get a 3 bet in with AAxx or the other side is they are raising a TON of hands and trying to take down a lot of small pots thinking that if they get caught they only lose 40bbs.

I'm tricky:

I'll limp almost every hand I want to play from EP at an aggressive table... call most raises, and limp reraise AAxx. By mixing in a few non-AAxx hands into your limping range, you can effectively get 20 BBs in the middle preflop with AAxx pretty easily.

From MP-LP I play fairly standard TAG, c-betting dry flops in position...especially in HU pots.

you can play more mediocre low hands hands because people will usually stack off with AA when u hit 2 pair, whereas they will often fold deeper.

I get it in good they duck out 4 outs constantly. I am like 400 buyins under ev in Plo on Americas card room. It's incredible how bad I run.
