Hey guys, I'm wondering what pokersite would you recommend me to start playing these stakes and eventually move up. I mean best sites taking in account things like traffic, rake, player pool + anything else important that comes to your mind. Thanks!

When starting out the most important thing is learning the game so i would recommend you to play some kind of "fast" table format like pokerstars zoom tables.

Everyone is going to lose money when he first starts but plo5 is low enough to allow you to play allot of hands before you bust your deposit... so i think playing as many hands as possible as fast as possible will get you more value for the time you invest than the lower rake. Tables at plo5 are soft everywhere so you don't need to worry about that.

The best rake for plo is offered by microgaming network (by far) but i don't think it has fast tables and it also doesn't allow HUD's or hand tracking software. The HUD is debatable but you definitely want some way to keep track of your hands in order to review them latter.

Thanks for the answer. What do you think about Party pokers fast forward tables? Are they even offering these really micro stakes. I saw in one place that they are offering PLO only starting from PLO25. I'm on linux now so can't really install and check it out. Just wondering if there even is an option to play on Party and how it compares to Pokerstars.

In order of easier games, you might start at 888 micros, move to stars (later including zoom for practise), then to party (they have a semi-automatic rakeback but it won't help at micros). Shopping the affiliates makes sense.

The microgaming plo games are like tighter aggresive (aditionally to party, the rake educated players play there). The American(s) players can play Bodog/Bovada or whatever it is called these days and the winning poker network is open for about all (depends on skin also).

I just checked our party poker - there are indeed fast forward tables starting only from PLO25 but at 12am eastern european time there were 0 tables running on all site PLO25+. And PLO5 normal tables there were just 4. Seems like there is 0 action there =[

it doesnt really matter which site you play on.
preferable a site which allows you to use a HUD and track hands to review hands and where you get some solid bonus/rakeback.

But stay away from those fast table formats.

For NLHE/PLO50 and below the Microgaming Network offers the best conditions! While you're learning the game it's best to play under the best side conditions to increase your winrate as much as possible. These extra benefits will soften your downswings that are inevitable, and the impact is thereby diminished.

The Microgaming Network offers the best rake structure for these stakes compared to other sites. Next to that, imagine the difference a welcome bonus makes that clears at a 20% rate, 30% flat lifetime rakeback and a rake chase that can be offered.

Check this comparison for example between Pokerstars and Betsafe (MPN) for PLO25. Note that Pokerstars even has a decent rake structure for these stakes but the lack of rakeback and welcome/reload bonuses are a disadvantage.


888Poker effectively charges 5% uncapped rake per pot since the rake caps are never met, plus there is no cash rakeback.

ps. For PLO, there aren't any other fast-fold formats running besides Pokerstars.

On PS the rakecap is the same for 10PLO and 5PLO (~11$ pot). Avoid 5PLO and 5PLO8 like the plague for that reason.
