Seems pretty good to have an OP and the nfd and blockers to straight draws. You're in good shape against pretty much anything here. Happy to bet here, can bet less than pot to keep in worse FDs.

Here's the worst case scenario:

I like to bet my draws against passive players, but against 4 players, two of whom have position on us, I would check call depending on the bet.

standard 1/3 pot bet to build the pot.

Seems like a fairly standard check. The 99 future blockers make betting a little more attractive but 4w with unfavorable position check-call seems better. One downside to betting is that we block many 97 combos so if opponents continue they should be strong - our hand feels slightly too weak to want to get it in on the flop and too strong to bet/fold.

Xr is not terrible, and against some opponents very attractive.

Also 1/3 psb here is not a thing, let alone standard.

With players you mentioned I would go for half pot. We are in very good shape and time to build a pot.

I missed hero having backdoor flush initially, making it closer than i first thought between check and bet. And making xr still a good option.

Half pot is reasonable when hero does bet, though i think slightly larger might be even better.

So, at the time I actually thought this pot was three way. One of the factors in making me decide to bet was, as Dumbos pointed out, my 99 blockers to straight draws. But given that I have the NFD, do I even want to be blocking straight draws? Or is that more important if I am betting without substantial equity just hoping to take down the pot?

We are going to do a ton of checking in this scenario second to act in a four way pot. Of course if we're not betting this combo, what are we ever betting? I seriously have no idea whether betting the flop was a good idea or not.

Anyway, I decide to bet 2/3rds pot, and get calls from the CO and BU.

Turn is a Js, so I pick up a gutshot. $21 in the pot, effective stacks are around $40 at this point (technically I have $43, one guy has $40, other guy covers).

One important thing to note about the 9 blockers is that we will stilll not get a lot of credit for 9x straights as ep raiser. So while we will get some credit for a hand like t9xx, i think 97xx and j9xx will be harder, since those hands willl often prefer checking flop.

As played, check-evaluate, do not think we should call a pot-sized bet. If co checks and btn bets we might call a larger bet since pot may stay 3-way.

hand continues check check check, river I make a large bet on the non board pairing heart as I figure it is likely one of my opponents has a high flush and I get paid.
