Over the past year or two there has been a lot of discussion how rake is killing micro PLO games and how its impossible to deposit a small amount and move up the stakes. There has been particular emphasis on PLO zoom games and how they are virtually unbeatable.

I'm going to attempt a challenge: start out with a $100 bankroll and grind out exclusively zoom PLO. My ultimate goal is to turn that $100 into $10k. There is not going to be a set time limit for this challenge, but I hope I can complete it within 1 month.

I'm going to be 6-tabling zoom, starting out with 4 tables of zoom2 and 2 tables of zoom5. I'm planning to move up to 4t of zoom5 & 2t of zoom10 when I reach $250. Then to 4t z10 2t z25 at $550, 4t z25 2t z50 at $1200, 4t z50 2t z100 at $2400 and finally 4t zoom100 2t zoom200 when I reach $4800. I'm planning to grind the rest out with that setup (maybe increasing the 200 to 100 table ratio as I get closer to my final 10k mark).
If I encounter a downswing at any point I'm planning to move down in stakes also according to the above schedule.

If I go bust at any point I'm reserving myself a right to fire 2 more additional $100 bullets, for the worst case total investment of $300. If I bust my third bullet I will consider this challenge failed and not waste any more time on it.

This is not a prop bet. This is simply a way for me to both challenge myself and to prove that micro zoom PLO is beatable. If anyone wants to make some kind of a bet on whether I can complete this challenge I'm willing to consider offers, but once again that is not my primary goal/concern.

I would love to stream my progress, but I have never used twitch before and don't have an account set up there (basicly I'm a total streaming noob), so if anyone could offer me help of how to go about obtaining a twitch channel and setting things up there I would greatly appreciate it.

If everything goes well I'm planning on starting this challenge either tonight or in the next couple of days. I will try to update this thread often with both graphs and interesting hands.

gl, i'm sure you'll complete this challenge with 3 bullets easily. however completion of this kind of challenge by a known midstakes crusher adds very little to the discussion about the beatability of lower stakes plo zoom games. more important discussion is whether the rake is beatable for players learning the game and grinding up for micros.

still i'm curious to see how long this takes are milestone bonuses and other rakeback things included or is this purely on winnings?

I knew I forgot something when writing the op, rakeback is obviously not going to be included, just pure winnings. Including rakeback would be unfair to the micro players, as my % is higher than they can normaly achieve. Gona edit op to include this point. (damn 30min period has expired so I cant edit. would greatly appreciate it if someone adds this point to the op)

I would suggest you mentor 2 new players to the communinty with a $100 bankroll and bronze stars to follow in your footsteps. (Ideally players with the same time u have avilable for this but have struggled to deal with the rake burn - gives it a touch of reality as apposed to a mid stakes crusher just crushing )

I'm just venturing into a similar micro stakes challenge myself but i have no set goal for final total and I'm trying to figure out how many tables I can handle before my concentration goes out the window. So far I'm up to 3 tables and doing fairly decent. I'm a complete online poker noob when it comes to tracking/graphs etc so I'm doing a lot of studying/research in between sessions.

For setting up twitch you basically just have to subscribe. Install OBS (open broadcasting software or whatever), and then set it up. There's a guide here http://help.twitch.tv/customer/porta...aster-software

No jokes I think you'll find PLO10-PLO50ish harder than you expect. It's all fun and games to 6table zoom until you put in a 5 hour session, open up cashier, and wonder why your balance is at ground zero.
Then you open HEM and see that you just paid 500bb in rake.

I normally play 4 tables of zoom500 + 2 of zoom200, had a lot of 10h+ sessions. Dont expect 6-tabling micros to be tougher


For an update, I'm currently working on setting up my twich layouts and stuff. Have already ordered an overlay, should be here within the next couple of days. Till then I'm probably gona be streaming without it, kinda ghetto style. Hopefully I can get everything sorted out and start tonight.

This is awesome. I've always kinda wanted to do something like this but couldn't justify the time expenditure. If you achieve it in a month that'll just make it all the more sick!

I think you will get higher hourlies mass tabling normal tables - especially antes, at plo5 and below. Getting to the first k is so ****ign tedious without mtts aswell.

that is probably true, but I specifically want to do this at zoom, since they are said to have the least winning regs.

The amont of winning regs int he other tables is close to 1% probs. In plo2 zoom it could be like 7%. If you are doing it to prove a point rather than get there faster, that's pretty cool though. GL. Would love to watch

As i am playing micros for years and cant move up, so when u do it, for me and for a lot of other PLO micro grinders it will be a lot inspiring. And ofc its sooo good to see ur playing that micros at twitch.

I'de bet you accomplish this within 1 month. I am doing a similar challenge myself due live expenses, gaining confidence, challenge myself etc...

Cool bet. I would be very very surpriced if you can do it in 1 month, but in 2 it should be doable and a great achievement. I also think loctus is wrong, I think he will crush everything below 25plo zoom.
