What is the buy in? Depends how good you are - Live PLO especially that low is as soft as it gets.

Most pots go multi way and you beat it by making the nuts and not paying off with the 2nd nuts.

What's the buy in? How does it play? 10k is not even close to enough in the game I play. For my game 700 Max buy in and very loose and aggressive I'd reccomend 40-50k.

Max $700 is not a 1/3 game

That sounds like a 1/3/6 game

My game is 1/2 but you can't bring in for less than $5 and the open raise is $15

And just because your max is $700 doesn't mean you have to buy in for $700. You can buy in for $300.

33 buy ins should be plenty especially if you get off the table every time you have $1500+

It depends. What is the max buy in? Does the game play much bigger, with frequent straddles and double straddles? Is the game loose passive or loose aggressive? What will you be buying in for? Are you a professional / semi professional, or a recreational player? What is your skill level? There are a lot of factors in play here.

I'd say $10,000, buying in for no more than $300 and quitting any time you get 1k (10% of your bankroll) on the table is a reasonable start. More bankroll is better obviously.

If you lose 30-40% of your bankroll you might want to move down to PLO $100 online.

10k should be more than enough, especially since buying in for less than 100bb is an option

I would feel pretty good with 20 BI given how soft these games normally are

It's a 1/3 game 20 bring in. In my game I'd be brain dead not to buy in the max. The game plays huge and nobody folds. Pretty much every hand you get is like your drawing to a full wrap and flush draw cause nobody folds any draw they have. Variance in this game is stupid but it's the softest 1/3 game on the planet.

How long is a piece of string? So many variables to qn like this. Can you afford to lose your bankroll? ie. you have a job/other income that means you can easily save for a smaller/same sized BR and try and rebuild. 25BI prob fine.

Or are you doing this full time? And again, even then how bad would going bust be? Family = terrible. Need a huge BR like 100BI min. No commitments = not the end of the world although bad, can always get a job and start grinding at smaller stakes. 50BI min prob fine.

Game I play is 2/2 with optional 5 straddle. Min. buyin is $200 and max is $1,000. Pretty common to have multiple seats with over $1,000. Because of straddle and player tendencies ave. pots can easily be $120 on the flop 4 ways or $24 on the flop 3 ways. I've seen 3 way all-ins for $500 each, and 6 people seeing the flop for $40 each ($240 pot).

Knowing when to quit is a skill, as is thinking about being 600bb deep. Buyin 300-500 and at a rough guess if you lose $2,000 (4-7 buyins) at the game you should seriously consider if you are unlucky or just bad.

This is a poorly formulated question. Tell me your goal and your variables, and we can give you a better answer. Let me give you an example:
Quote:
I want to make $10K playing 1/3 PLO in the next 6 months, with a .01% chance of going BUSTO. I am a top 9% player, and rarely get paid with the nuts, as I am a mega nit.
Okay, jkak, I recommend a $30K bankroll.

Okay, jkak, I recommend a $3K bankroll.

I recommend at least 50 buyins and preferably 100, but I am a bankroll nit.

being overrolled gives you a big advantage: you can make the right plays and detach from the money/results short term. my personal feeling is that in omaha your roll can never be big enough, and playing with a small roll is like trying to get accross the ocean in a rowboat (you might just make it, but you will probs sink).

people really seem to emphasize the fact that the higher your winrate the less extreme negative variance is. this is definitely true but IMO this effect is exaggerated

in the end it really depends on how much risk of ruin you are willing to take on. In an ideal world your roll would be 100bi, but in the real world you could probs just play with 20bi and make out alright assuming ur a winning player

PLO you definitely want to be over rolled. i would say 100 max BI for your usual game is sufficient.
