It's not really a mistake to fold this hand UTG if you are playing against tough opponents. The boards you hit you will be getting a lot of credit on as your UTG range should consist of a lot of high card run down combos etc. And on top of that in cases where a tonne of money goes in On flops you're going to be dominated some by hands that have redraws or additional equity with FDs, e.g. 98x two tone GII against QJTx W/ FD or AQx two tone, top two vs. top 2 + FD as two examples. So overall there isn't a tonne of value in this hand. If you are playing against weaker opponents like recs/ fun players however I'd be opening this hand from any position.
