Obviously being SSPLO, a lot people here wont be full time professionals, but is there anyone that is playing that is quite nicely still supplementing the income from a 9-to-5-esq job?

I have a job which pays well, and dont want to be professional, but I do love the game and am willing to put in a couple of hours study a day + 12k hands per month with the aim to ultimately play 1/2 PLO.

My question is, if you are winning at life and doing this, what's your stakes/volume/study time/win rate etc. ?

i've started again at the low stakes after playing 2/4 online many years ago.

i just completed a $50 -> $10k challenge I set for myself to see if I could beat the microstakes at plo.

putting in 30 hours a week and lets say 10 -> 15 hours studying/watching videos, so almost the hours for another full time job.

over the past few months i've seen the game evolve on my site and notice the play is still bad in some spots, but those spots are becoming less and less in frequency where your edge can be huge (when you're getting it in with >60% equity).

i say you need to be constantly tweaking your game and responding to the player pool accordingly and that requires many continuous hours at the table.

I know you're humble and all but if you could post details and graphs of your challenge, you'd be one of very few who actually succeeded in such a challenge.

I work >40 hours/week. Have played 130k hands in 2017 (6bbev/100 overall, plo50-plo200) and a decent amount live as well.

People tend to underrate how hard it is to combine full time work and winning/improving in poker.

^Totally glossed over the fact that you said you work >40hours/week, saw the number of hands you played this year and was shocked for a second haha

Indeed, girlfriend wanted me to play poker & teach english in an asian country for a year, no way I'd be able to do that and not be losing so that's a v nice wr man

Man that is so sick, congrats. Count me inspired.

My problem is to work out how to also juggle a long term relationship

Stakes/duration/sites? Not an easy thing to do nowadays.

Adding women and sports to the equation does not make it any easier

+1 What site and stakes.

Hell Fernando (aka JNandez) is in the middle of a bankroll challenge to $10k and he started with $1k at PLO25 (Currently around $3k PLO50)

i don't have graphs b/c i've never used hem/pt2, hud etc.

here is the analog graph:

3$ -> 0$ -> 50$ (redeposit) -> $8.2k -> (one 36 hour session) -> $1.3k -> (being sick and determined to grind back) -> +$10k

Stakes: 2PLO to 400PLO

When I lost ~$7k one night, I was shell shocked and didn't play for a week. From then on it was all rebuilding at 50plo and 100plo up until 10k. I didn't move up to 100plo until I had 50 buyins at that level.

timeframe: 4 1/2 months
