Hey Guys,

I don't play too much PLO, but of late, have become more and more interested, watching some content online and playing a few micro MTT's. A few weeks ago, I finished 2nd in a $1.10 rebuy which I was very happy with, so I decided to give the WCOOP $11 a whirl. I did pretty well, ultimately finishing 22nd out of 8600 but there were a few spots that just went completely over my head, and I wondered if I could post them here for people to cast their eye over.

Here's the first:

Of course, this may seem a trivial spot to you more nuanced types, so go easy.

Having not played a tonne of PLO, these types of situations are a bit tricky for me to negotiate. I think if the hand is double suited, a call might be OK, even OOP - is it? I was just trying to play nice and straightforward for the most part, playing really solid hands in position. I think over the course of the tournament, and approximately 800 hands, I reckon I saw approximately 10-15 3bets in total (yes seriously) and EVERYTIME this was a AxAyXX hand, so I felt I could combat these and call when holding the types of starting hands below, but primarily when I wasn't committing 1/8th of my stack OOP. Do we just take the plunge here, with 40bb's and if we get part of the flop i.e. flush/straight/wrap/two pair, just stick it in? Seemed rather loose, but maybe I need to be more fearless in these kind of spots.

If we were IP would a call be OK here, even considering the stack sizes? Villain had been playing reasonably snug too, which lead me even further to believe this was a AAXX type holding. We are already ITM, with about 5 places to go to the next pay jump $157 - $220.

Low run downs in general are very weak, especially when they are not double suited. This will never be a over-call even in position , and if its double suited you can 3b it / maybe call in position sometimes vs SRP but with how deep the stacks are here im going to assume ICM-wise you don't want to try to punt in and flip a weak run down just cause you put someone on a super tight AAxx range

it's not a bad hand if you can get it heads up but needs to be double suited and you need to be in a HU situation - and you want the fold equity.

As played easy fold which you did! Great job sir

While this hand is situationally playable from the sb, in this phase of the tournament you want to focus on preserving chips, bb could easily come in to the pot and utg can reopen the action, no good reason to expose yourself to that kind of risk. And that's ignoring playability issues postflop

With this stack size and action this is clear fold pre.If you were in the hand somehow with 40bb with pair/wrap/fd just gii,why you think it is loose?
What kind of flopare you hoping for, fullhouse with redraw?

I meant it seemed loose pre. I.e. calling/jamming.
