Would this game be beatable long term after the rake? Some of the players only buy-in for $100 or even less. If I was going to play I would buy-in for $200 min. I have a feeling only 5/5 PLO is beatable with this rake perhaps and you would need quite a lot of capital to sub stain your PLO habit if your the best player in the game.

In practical terms, probably not beatable.

If you have a big edge and the games get deep, yes, it will be beatable, but the variance will be high and for low profit, so yes, in practical terms either not beatable or not worth the time and stress.

They have a max buy-in of $2000 and a min buy-in of $100. Games do get deep for a couple of hours.

Short answer: Even if is theoretically beatable (it probably would be with a very significant edge) it still wouldn't be anything near logical to play.

At 5/5 it's not looking any better that's 4bb rake w 10%. There are plenty of soft clubs/unions out there where you will find 5% rake capped at 3.5 BB for 1/2 and the cap goes down to under 3bb for 2/4. Not to mention rakeback that could get you a decent chunk of that back. Just take some time to explore your options before you subject yourself to games like that.

Where is this and who the hell wants to subject themselves to this ripoff?

What you should do is ask the owner why are they so ****ing greedy?

If this is live so about 20 hands per hour. Omaha live at only 1/2, 80% of pots are over $200.
Thats about $400 in rake per hour.

I wouldn't play it, almost out of principle.

I can't watch a man take $20 out of my pot over and over again

You better get unlimited hookers, blow and liquor for that rake. If not, go once and poach the players and run your own game for a $10 capped rake.
