SB(Villain covers hero,lost 150-200 bb to hero,hero troll him in chat,didnt see him spewing) raises 40$

Flop 120$ is JhTh3c
V pots 120$,hero calls,fold
Turn 360$ is 8c
V checks,hero takes time bank and bets 180$,call
River 7c
check,hero checks
toughts?
He is potting on the flop,that was suprise for me, we are deep and he pots this flop, so I put him at least AAhh

Checks behind.

I feel like I’m in this spot with some regularity. I generally either check behind or bet 1/4-1/2 pot but every time I get jammed on I kick myself.

If you are going with a smallish size on the turn this is a pretty great river to go for value again, plus you have the ac. Even small bets like you would make as a cheap bluff or to induce a jam should be +ev, though that is not my recomendation.

hero does not have any aces, let alone the ace of clubs. you have a super dynamic board and will be pot stuck on any river so betting pot is best.
