[converted_hand][hand_history]Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Hero (SB): $72.89 (145.8 bb)
BB: $50 (100 bb)
UTG: $43.78 (87.6 bb)
MP: $5.08 (10.2 bb)
CO: $61 (122 bb)
BTN: $67.25 (134.5 bb)

I have some trouble with valuebetting as weird as it sounds and this hand is a great example for that.

BTN is a solid regular, maybe bit stationary. 27/18/4, 32% WTSD on 300 hands. On this day, i felt like i was getting ran over by the other regs, so i decided to mix in some hands like this one. Probably would be 3betting this hand in this spot anyway, because BB wasnt a recreational, so i didnt want him into the hand.

Preflop: Hero is SB with 6 4 9 8
3 folds, BTN raises to $1.75, Hero raises to $5.75, BB folds, BTN calls $4

Flop: ($12) 9 9 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN checks

OTF flopping the nuts on a board that my range is perceived weak on. He certainly has more 9x in his range than i have. Im checking here nearly my whole range against other regulars. Is this a mistake in this case, because my hand is so strong?

Turn: ($12) 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $8.89, Hero calls $8.89

OTT same story. He bets large and i decide to call. Right here i dont know how to approach this spot in general. Am i supposed to raise, because my range is weak and therefore he can call me lighter? Or should i c/c, so he can think he can get me of a hand?

River: ($29.78) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $28.29

OTR: Here "i lost my nerves" and just potted, because i was scared, he would check behind. I dont like my play at all, especially the betsizing. Again, i just dont know how to approach this spot in general and am totally lost.

Can someone help me out here? Any advice is highly appreciated.

Checking range here is not good; paired boards generally still favor 3bettor. You also should be 3betting quite a lot of your range you vpip, so it's not like a lot of your 9x gets flat.

For instance, on 998ss, solver cbets 93%, and 966ss, 70%, TT7ss, 64%. We still cbet quite frequenly in these spots.

With our boat combos, we cbet 70%-90% or so most of these boards, so it IS mixed, but I wouldn't over do it.

Turn I would check raise, especially as you block their double barrels but unblock their straights which might continue. You want more overcards to call also generally speaking.

River don't lead. I know bad regs love to do it, or as an exploit it can be okay, but it just doesn't make sense range-wise.

Villain when choosing what hands to bet again on the river should usually pick hands that block whatever the river card is (to block river boat) but also to block 66 or 88 and so on (or some 98 96), so in this case, having not just a boat, but also blocking a card that would make them more likely to barrel would mean that you're more keen to raise.

A combo that you're more keen to flat call would be a boat with overcards, such that you have more rivers you can raise for value on.
