Why is position more important in PLO than NLH? Why is position more important in PLO than NLH?

I often see in articles that position is even more important in PLO than in NLH, but cant think of a reason why.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Equities run closer, dynamics change much more on each street, more pots are multi-way (at least in the PLO games that I have played) and stacks are often deeper (at least live), therefore having more information when it is your turn to act is more valuable than in NLT.

If you hold, for example, T988 in PLO and act first in a four-way, single-raised pot on a K85 flop with two of a suit, itīs a really hard hand to play. On the button it is much easier. If you have 88 on a K85, two suit board, in NLT your main objective will in most cases be to get as much money in as possible by the river. Of course, it is still easier in position, but the pot will most likely be heads up or at most three-ways and assigning reasonable ranges to opponents will be much easier.

In a situation like that PLO you basically have to walk through an immense minefield to come out of it with a win, something that is much easier to do if you are last to act. In the hand above, if you are first to act, you basically donīt have any good options, if you are last to act, the situation is different (although still hard).
