1/2 PLO Mutliway, Kinda of a weird spot. Original raiser I have marked as a decent player, BTN and SB I have marked as bad players. Too loose preflop is their main mistake. Also overplaying marginal hands in a few situations

Preflop: Hero has A J J 4
1 fold, Villain raises to 3.5BB, 1 fold, BTN calls, SB calls, Hero 3 bets to 17.5BB, Villain 1 calls, BTN calls, SB calls

Flop: A 9 4
SB donk shoves for 13.8BB, Hero?

Are we ripping it here, or call and evaluate based on action behind us? What is the game plan? I think I am going to be calling a shove, so maybe I can fold out lots of Aces with equity and other Aces with some clubs. The pot was 70BB on the flop, so SPR of 1.2

I also looked and GTO says AJJ4 single suit is just a call but double suited is a raise. But I guess in this spot it wouldn't really make much difference unless the 4 was a 4 of diamonds.

Definitely would not squeeze this hand pre. Think with 84 bb in there you just have to rip it

I'm assuming SB shoved for 23 bb not 13? Hand history says he was 40bb to start.

Does Hero cover 160bb villain? He is only villain deep enough to think about not shoving the flop.

While there's some benefit to sandwiching the better player inbetween you and the bad, loose players, preflop is burning EV when you definitely have a very +EV call. DS it's less bad but would still just flat unless the original raiser is raising at least ~40% of hands.

Postflop we need to find out whether he's shoving for 14 or 24 bbs.

Not so sure I 3b a decent Player OOP here regardless of SB's ability to reopen action .. bloated pot, V can play perfect.

Now we're kind of stuck .. V can still play perfect. I like side pots but I don't like saying 'Pot', so I will raise here to 'only' 40-45bb to send a large enough message to V that we have connected and are willing to open up some side action.

While calling off isn't the end of the world, we are really open to getting drawn out on even if we are ahead. We don't block any flush cards and only have 2 outs (not 6) to hit our Jack 'Dangler' to improve. AK/AQ can beat us with a 9 as well.

Interesting spot with the short stack and being in the middle. The Board is 'ok' safe other than flush/wheel draw. I'm more inclined to take my medicine here if rainbow Board and thus usually wait until non-flush Turns .. but the SB messes this all up and then due to the bloated PF pot we are pretty stuck to just GII.

As I said before, I like side pots .. whether it be an all-in or just a 'suggested' all-in I'm making sure that V knows I hit the Board and want more chips in the middle. GL

I’m not 3b this hand ever, but if I did I would size down a little bit so that if sb shoves I can jam.

Unless you purposely set it up where you can’t raise and no one else can iso because your hand is not good enough to gii. Which is interesting.

ODonk .. I do switch up my bet sizing to my 'benefit' or plan going forward. Sometimes I want Players trapped into topping off a call to continue and bloating the pot whereas in other cases I want to offer up the opportunity to re-raise (or at least the threat of one) in order to generate an extra fold or two while action comes back around.

Our Player Pool has gotten a bit min-raise happy when someone Straddles in order to slide the 'option' to themselves AFTER the Straddle then min-raises themselves in a cat/mouse type of PF antic. GL
