thanks. And yeah you are right, it does not do me a favor to learn HU SNGs. I will now try to build my roll for PLO50 and then try to switch to HU, everything else does not make much sense imo.

I'm a well rolled 2/5 live NH reg and I'd like to sit down and try PLO in my local card room. It's a 1-2 PLO game $200-$600. My plan is just to short stack and play NITty to mix things up and learn a new game. I've read Pot-Limit Omaha Poker by Jeff Hwang, and I used to play PLO in the 8 game mix pre-BF. Can some please help me better understand what my general PF range should be, or refer me to stickies or further reading for beginners and nitty play, key differences between PLO and NH, ect...thanks.

Mine was 140 bb/100 in periods with these stats but it depends on postflop stats as well, I was a certified nit postflop. It must be like 160 for you. Look it up in PT4 and trust it, I vouch that it's calculated correctly there.

It is a wrap, an "inside" wrap. Potting 10-handed is lighting money on fire when u only have 9 outs to the nuts. Check and decide, u can prob call one bet in a low stakes live game and turn a profit.

Hello, I was wondering how much equity is required to shove all in if you assume zero fold equity.

The other day I had AKJ8 with to spades on a Q-6-4-10 with two spades board. I was roughly 40% against top set and 45% against top two pair. This particular player is very agressive and probably will not fold even top two pair in this situation. Basic question, how much equity is enough to get it all in? Heres the amounts. Hero has $500 left behind, Villian has me covered, there is also a second person in the hand that will more than likely fold once I re-pot. On the turn there is $145 in the pot. Villian bets $145, Should i repot?, if Yes, please explain the math reasoning. I won the hand, but i am trying not to be result oriented.

Write back
Thanks

Raising w/o FE and no equity edge is pointless, just call and play river honestly

Third guy often has a weaker draw, so he's welcome to call as well

lets say I turn the nuts (ie: nut flush), bet pot and got 1 caller. the river is a blank.
my opponent just sat down and I have no reads on him.

how much to valuebet in a vacuum if i put him on a set or a lower flush?

What is the min bankroll you'd want to have to play live 1-2 PLO, with a $5 bring in, w/$500 max?

I have a full time job that pays pretty well, so I'm not relying on the income.

Hwang's bankroll schedule was 40x the bring in. Seems excessive to have a $20k bankroll for this level. The game where I play just isn't very aggro with little raising/3-betting preflop. But I'm pretty new to the game, so maybe I'm misjudging the possible swings. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

In ur case, the concept of BRM has to be adjusted, given going busto is no catastrophy for you. Just bring with you whatever ur willing to lose in a single session every night (5-10BI?), and take a break if u run out of gambling money.

If "going busto" has a psychological meaning for you, then I suggest you follow Hwang's advice.

Thanks, I'm a little nitty so I do like to have a somewhat defined BR, even if it isn't the full amount. Sounds like Hwang's recommendations are conservative, yet reasonable. Good to know!

Hey, can anyone recommend a video series for people wanting to learn PLO? Like a structured course or something where the basic are covered? I'm looking to play some PLO for fun now and possibly get more serious later. I want something relatively up-to-date ofc. Most of my background is NLH husngs and MTT's.

Thanks.

y'all need to use the search function for this thread

wrt audiobooks, no idea, def unconventional for poker training as most people want to see the cards talked about. Especially for a 4-card game like PLO
