Hey guys, I've read through a lot of this and see some good links to get great advice, but mostly for 6-max and very general stuff. I want to know specific things for heads up PLO. What kind of stats does is a solid PLO heads up reg going to have? vpip-sb? vpip-bb? steal? 3bet? 4bet? fv4b? Are you ever folding to a 3bet heads up in PLO? (especially when a guy is 3betting you 30-40+%? What are the best PLO HEADS UP videos out there for beginners?
I'd imagine a competent player only ever limps a few raggy big pairs from EP, potentially some disconnected suited aces too in a soft game. so like 3%?
first of all, anything below PLO10 is just to get a feel for the game, not building a roll. unless u got an insane RB-deal and run like god, obv
If you can spare a hundo/month reloads for poker, just take aggressive shots at PLO10 until u start running better. Or as high as you can afford, really
if you wanna be conservative with ur BRM even this low, play NL. less rake, less variance
so are you saying its maybe better to build a roll outside of Omaha and learn at a higher PLO rate?
If you have a good rakeback deal then it's fine to learn the game in low limits. But we don't want to stay in plo2 or plo4, move up asap.
If you are bronzestar or something similar, don't bother :P
What type of WR can a good player expect to make in PLO compared to NLH in a live setting. It has been said that if you are able to make 10bb/hr in live NLH you are crushing the game. What can a player who is crushing the game expect to make in a similar PLO game?
Can someone please explain to me why this guy has almost 34% equity on the flop vs my hand? This hand tilted the **** out of me and left me dumbfounded, hence the reason I am posting here.
Preflop: Hero is BTN with A A 8 K Preflop: Villain has 5 A 2 4

Flop: 7 4 Q (2 players)
Back door flush.2x Back door straight. Trip and 2 pair outs. I assume he called a 4b and stacked.
i've read some articles about improving in plo from GGARJ, napsus and some other from the "ssplo grand digest" thread and read that i should try to get a good rakeback-deal in order to play/start plo. so for now i've got 70 BI's for plo25 and I'm goldstar at stars, so do you think the rakeback is sufficient ? usually i'm playing the ht-husng's on stars which i will continue to play but i really love plo and want to learn that game.
unsexy: I'm playing on a mac and i don't find any good sites with nice rb-deals that i could take where i didn't already played at.
thanks for your quick replay GGARJ! I'm not even close to supernova (still 95k). is it even possible to get supernova on plo25 ? how many hands do i have to play for that?
ok thanks for your advise, i'll try to get a good deal
It's definitely possible: about 16 bb/100 is paid in rake at PLO25 on average (that depends on the player), SN requires $18181.82 a year in rake, hence 450K hands a year, or 38K a month, at PLO25. It's definitely too late for you to make it this year after 5 months have passed, but next year it will be doable. But even as a SN one needs probably better table selection skills than on small networks where a bigger share of tables is playable. Only as a SNE (10x bigger rake, which is impossible for most, I'd say even double SN requires playing at some too reggy tables) can one really enjoy playing at Stars.
Wow, I guess my noooobness is showing. I didn't realise rake was such a big problem as it is in PLO... what do you regs think about PLO100 zoom... what sort of rake am I paying here, expressed as bb/100. And do I really have to make it to supernova to make it generally a +ev situation trying to grind zoom.
I paid about 8 bb/100 at iPoker PLO100 reg tables over a tiny sample, so I guess it's like 7 bb/100 at PLOZ100... wait until PLOZ100 regs correct me. But you're capable of making SN (it's a must) this year 2-tabling PLOZ100 even if you have few VPPs right now.
