Can anyone give me their thoughts on this hand? I thought it was pretty bad initially, but after working back through it, I'm not sure it was so terrible. V was somewhat splashy aggro, 54/17, only over 72 hands though, so sample size. Still trying to get my feet wet here. Thanks guys!
Fold pre, these single suited hands are trash. Fold flop, you pretty much have a open-ender with a bdfd. Play around with a poker calculator, you're always against better hands and often better draws.
I flopped bottom set and nut flush draw on a 5-7-K flop tonight. Smooth called two players on flop. Folded to cold pot then re-pot bet on turn. That's twice I flopped set plus nut flush draw this week. Lost stack once to a 2-outer, saved stack on this one. Both players beat me for both pots in the end.

How do you fold bottom set + nut flush draw? Flop K-7-5 two spades. I have A-9-5-5, ace suited spade. Tight player bets out and is insta-called by even tighter player in front of me. Trip 7's made sense for the caller (or wrap), I deliberated raising, would have heads up of course, but just called 80. Turn is deuce off blank. It goes pot then re-pot in front of me. Looked to me like top or second set and a flush/straight combo draw. If right, which it was, I have, what, six outs live? River makes a straight with 9 off-suit and it's trip kings (odd just call on flop) and a straight busts him. I would have been third best. Oh well, you don't fold trips with the nut flush draw every day, so it seemed a notable dodge.
the same way you fold Kings pre in NLHE 100bb deep.
Was just talking about that tonight at the table. I don't think I have ever folded kings pre in hold'em. I was in one spot when I 100% should have. But that's off topic I guess in PLO thread. Anyway the discussion of it tonight was in a PLO game, so maybe it's okay.
I just wouldn't fold this hand tonight: Q-Q-J-10 double-suited. 1-2-5 PLO. Raised to 15 then to 40 pre. I call it cold. Big blind in obvious aces move makes it 300 something. I have 700 in front, he has me covered. I decide I'm just not folding this monster hand ... one of the best in the game surely? So there was a couple hundred dead money in there which probably doesn't justify the call. I just wasn't folding. I shipped the 710. Flopped Q-7-4 rainbow. It held up.
But I just wasn't folding the Queens double suited with a 10-J. Not sure if that's defensible or not. If he showed me aces or kings I wasn't folding. I should have said .... oh boy classic ... I should have said, "If you show me aces I will shove."
Jimminy Xmas ... in 5-card last night I have A-K-Q-J-10, double-suited.
Flop 9-10-K-A-? Rainbows.
I have nut straight and the top three pair against the bottom set. He bet out on the turn and won the pot. I don't remember being in that exact spot before, but I haven't played a lot of five card. I've taken dozens of one-outer beats but not the top three pair versus bottom set thing, when he's currently beat and if he fills he's crushed.
I had 4 two-pair hole card hands, much more common in 5 card of course, and no sets to them ... extending the 30 years streak with no sets flopped to 2-pair hands. About a googol-to-one shot. After making quad fours on the river in a hand, it reminded me of something and I tell a story tonight of making quads on 3 straight deals of the cards decades ago. Dude responds with a back-to-back royal claim in hold'em, a cool billion to one shot, I think (before any cards dealt in the first hand, of course).

What's the best site right now to play some PLO micro zoom? I haven't really played in years, last time I played stars was doing fine, but right now there's 12 people there at PLO5 lol. They went to **** it seems.
