PPPoker is an app. I don't think it has anything to do with party poker but don't really know.
People unaffiliated with the app form clubs and admit people. The app is played with coins and has nothing to do with cashing you in or out. Instead you buy coins from the founder of the relevant clubs. Cashing in or out is done with them via cash, venom, PayPal, coinbase etc. App rakes pots which goes to club owner. Basically it's a platform for people to run online poker clubs.
A lot of the poker clubs in NYC have started their own. If you run an underground game it's a natural extension since you know a lot of players and since those games already often run on credit so there's a baseline level of trust. For whatever reason in the 3 clubs I've deposited with almost all the action is PLO. Because the clubs aren't public, I suspect they're much softer than Stars and the like. I've never played but assume I couldn't beat 1/2 PLO on Stars for a very high win rate but I'm crushing in PPPoker over 145k hand for 32 bbs/100. Of course you take risk on getting paid
