Sb vs BB, Bottom set on scary board Sb vs BB, Bottom set on scary board

2/5 PLO
Villain is a bad player. I am not sure what to do in this spot, and I don't really like any of my options. Maybe this should be folded facing a 3 bet preflop? Villain has been 3 betting at around 16% and running hot, some of the bets are junk hands.

Villain 350BB
Hero 120BB

Preflop: Hero has 9 9 6 4 in SB
3 folds, Hero raises to 3BB, Villain raises to to 9BB, Hero calls

Flop: K T 9
Hero checks, Villain bets 13.5BB, hero calls

Turn: 2
Hero checks, Villain checks,

River: 7
Hero checks, Villain tanks and bets 45BB (Pot), Hero?

Where would you play this hand differently?

Definitely fold to the 3b. Postflop I play it the same assuming you folded the river

So V is BB and it folded around? Only 3 folds to SB? 5-handed online?

The big thing with these hands is any history considerations. What does V do after making a 3b? What have you done against this V? Lots of folding to aggression? Playing back? Donking?

If you've been fairly tight, then I don't mind Donking out here OTF since you say V 3b wide. You may just take it down. You don't block clubs, so bloating the pot is not wise from that POV. I can go either way .. def x/c mode at min, not folding this Flop to a single bet.

AP I would probably Donk 1/2 pot OTR to see if I can get to Showdown cheap .. implying a flush. If we get raised then so be it.

My point is that 'these guys' like to bet and when you bet you've taken their fun away .. unless they have a hand and they're really proud to take back control or fold.

These spots are tough OOP, so either stay out of them or try to minimize your losses while still trying to get to Showdown. I think that is best by Donking somewhere in this hand, Flop, Turn or River.

It's a shame to fold out just to aggression when you state that the V has been showing down crap. What we don't know is whether or not the betting patterns are the same with crap and value? GL

I assume we are SB v BB in this hand and given that...

Why? I definitey do not fold to the 3b and think it would be a mistake.

------------------------------------------------

Postflop, GTO likes to lead this flop a lot for 1/3 size... like if you had clubs it would like you to lead 100% of the time, but with your specific hand it prefers a check 68% of the time and lead for 1/3 size the other 32%.

Given that you check it doesn't bet more than 1/2 pot as the villain, so it doesn't like the villain bet size here.

For the river, as played, FlopHero would pure fold (91% fold) vs a PSB.
