This is a spot in 6 card where someone has the nuts often and it’s just hard to make any money. He usually has 2 aces and you usually have 1.
Agree.. villain was folding to 3b! At a high enough frequency that 3b! Wide here seemed not as bad. People don’t really fold to 3b! In 6 card it just isn’t a thing. The fact he was makes me want to actually 3b! Wider (and fold to 4b!) til he stops folding to it. But that’s all besides the point..
The pre flop dynamic is irrelevant though..
My real question is when you flop the nuts oop are you mixing in checks or is it 100% flop lead.
I showed it to 2 people and they were like “you missed a flop bet” to take it down.
My point was that if you have the nuts and nut blocker and it’s a 4b! Pot so sets are hard to have for villain when he 4b! That it’s likely we have the board locked up. The only value combo villain has is Khi flush that would put any money in the pot given we know villains tight.
In these spots I like to check for deception for later streets so K hi feels comfortable putting in a bet or two.
Checking also keeps in bluffs that might stab. Also middling flushes may be more likely to continue when checked to and in low spr spots, so say he had J9hh danglers or something after a check or two might go for thin value.
If I lead all of the air folds out and villain might even hero fold a middling flush expecting more barrels so a lead is really strong And works better w bluff combos bc my stack is leveraged and looks like it’s all going in.
I checked turn was an A
