I think I played this ok but want to check. Only played a couple hands with the villian so I had no reads. Alarm bells went off when he bet only a dollar on the turn, on the river I figured him to be weak.

The best advice I think I ever read about the min bet leads is to just treat them like you would checks.

So I essentially checked behind on the turn. This has to be pretty bad with aces up and double nut flush draws right?

No this isn't bad. It's quit ideal for your hand actually, considering you are only looking for one street of value with the board being paired really.

hahahaha oh man this looks like it would tilt the crap out of me. Don't raise so much on the river you're gonna own yourself harder than needed and fold out some worse stuff. Make it something more easily callable if you're gonna raise (which is probably fine)

+1 to everything Xr8ed said.

I play it the same way. In the future don't include results.

It is stupid to pretend that minidonks are like checks. From a game theory perspective it's okay, but you can do much better. Those donk bets are very often villain saying one of the following: "I have a strong hand I want you to spaz," "I have a weak hand and I'm calling you no matter what," "I have a weak hand and I want you to fold." Usually donks are not very creative and you will be able to figure out what it means, but in a vacuum just realize that it at least skews their range towards a good hand.

Nonetheless nh, well played on every street assuming you were raise/folding the river.

"are like checks" and "treat them like checks" are two different things.

OMG this again. brings back the memory of the good ol Holdem days. I cant believe how many times i've witnessed arguments about this line of thinking.

Even if the above mentioned is a reasonable rule of thumb, there are some differences between a check and a min-bet, which should cause you to evaluate them differently.

A min bet conveys some interest in the hand, which a check does not.
Also minbet ranges are usually more polarised than a checking range, and lead to different numbers in many situations.

His raise was tiny.

Like it's really small.

Where's the value in raising the turn?
