PokerStars - $0.10 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 152.7 BB
SB: 234.7 BB
BB: 309.6 BB
Hero (UTG): 100 BB
CO: 87 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A T J Q

Hero raises to 3.5 BB, fold, BTN calls 3.5 BB, fold, BB calls 2.5 BB

Flop: (11 BB, 3 players) T 3 4
BB checks, Hero bets 7.9 BB, BTN calls 7.9 BB, BB calls 7.9 BB

Turn: (34.7 BB, 3 players) Q
BB checks, Hero bets 24.9 BB, BTN raises to 107.9 BB, fold, fold,

After the turn raise I think I am too often a heavy dog. THough I cant see villain having 33/44 too much and I block TT/QQ...
What are your thoughts?

If you want to bet fold for value on the turn even multiway I'd rather just check call.

I'm still a noob but here's my thoughts.

You're a big dog to a set but otherwise, you're not in bad shape. Top two and a gut shot to the nuts and there's no flush possible on the river. If the BTN has a reasonable range, he'll bet hitting broadway cards too. If the BTN doesn't have a set and has something like QTxx as well or maybe KKxx you're ahead.

You're unlikely to frequently hammer this flop hard as the UTG raiser (typically an overpair) and since BTN check-called the flop, it does make me think he's got an overpair of some sort. I don't think he's going to delay betting a set on the flop, so he seems to be repping a set of queens on the turn. On the plus side, even if he has a set of queens, you still have a gut shot to the nut straight, although it's a very slim chance to hit it.

It really sucks to get check raised off of your hand here but the more I look at it, the more I think it's a fold, although it can be hard to do so in the heat of the moment.

What was the result?

Think we are chopping a lot here and have some outs. So might be a call. Though in these situations villains show TT / QQ also a high % of the time.

Think flop check for pot control is advisable.

ouch.. these are the situations I find myself in often. Any reads on villains or stats to share? Does your HUD include VPIP, RFI, 3bet by position?

If you know btn is wild I may call, if you know they are tight I may fold (although sometimes I'll cry call)

I Remember him being a reg. So his Stats were probably sth like 25/17/7

From a GTO standpoint you should be checking the flop especially against a reg. might be a bet if you had the ace of diamonds for a back door double flush draw but even that’s unlikely. You’re oop so you’re supposed to be check/calling a lot here. Even mid and bottom set should be checking. Because IP is supposed to bet a lot when you check and he’s supposed to have a better range pre. And a reg should be aware of that... Maybe don’t play against regs would be my advice.
