I've been getting disconnects yes, but I am pretty sure they are related to my ISP, because my whole Internet is down for about 1 minute. I presume you can still get to Google right, because I can't?

"The ipoker pull-out only includes EUROPARTNERS, e.g. Titan and Mansion are in that group. Paddy, WH, 770 etc are still continuing @exNoose"

Yup, they've also added EUROPARTNERS to the news item I posted in LC. Although it's still pretty scary trend.

Just a heads up, I'm pretty sure we dont use screen names in this thread, compliment or not. I don't even recognise that screen name but, most evenings it is often on the tighter side

That's a great way to move up without the quality of games being affected I hate it so much that currently my average bb at PLO20 is like $0.25 (54% USD, 22% EUR, 22% GBP).

Probably many of you have $ Skrill / NETeller accounts for compatibility with P*, but I created the accounts in € on purpose, having € networks in mind, so I care less (and am, on the contrary, pissed off with P* not letting let me deposit € from Russia).

And also they're to remove high stakes, dumping most of the ego-driven reg gamblers to P* and leaving true fish at stakes where they lose slower and to us, mere mortals

It's also a great way for ipoker to make more money in rake. This isn't a good thing. I don't understand why you would open up a 50 GBP table, when you could open up a 100 USD table. It's 17 USD more and a lower rake cap. I mean I presume people do it, because they reason the 50 GBP table will be softer than the 100 USD table, but in a vacuum at least you want to play higher in USD instead of switching currency.

The way they describe removing stakes sounds as if they could remove PLO 50 or something, but yea presumably it will just be some nosebleeds that only run around fish.

"Tables using EUR and GBP are already “equal or higher in popularity” than those using USD, according to the statement." This is nonsense for PLO 50. There are way more USD tables than other currencies. So they clearly just make a ton more rake at this stake.

You're probably not the only reg who plays USD 100 but not GBP 50 using this (and ego) reasoning, and that's why GBP 50 is softer (also, mind that iPoker's rec player base is primarily British, at least at the peak hours).

Now ask why Stars regs don't start EUR tables where caps are lower than at USD ones (I know no explanation to this - isn't the player base rather European than not?). Moreover, why is $25 much more popular than ante $10 (= PLO18) featuring both lower rake caps and 7 VPP/$ instead of 5.5?!

true,
80% of the started tables are $.
iirc the rake at GRP & € tables is even higher than at the $, besides the higher value of the currency. can anyone confirm?

Yep, it's the same amount of currency units regardless of the currency (so 3 GBP ~ $4.8 for full GBP tables). But it's strange to see regs, for whom rake is almost nonexistent, complain. The extra rake collected from recs is pumped back into promos that work well (samba scratchcards, free bets, etc).

Rake at SSPLO is huge, even with SNE style rakeback. So any increase in it is never a welcome sight.
No matter how you argue it, there is always a loss if rake is increased.

agreed

It boils down not only to the amount of rake collected, but to the efficiency of its reinvestment into player acquisition. Playtech have made it clear that they're going to increase depositors' 'poker lifetime', which will result in a lower marketing cost per customer and hopefully an increase in player acquisition speed that will make games softer.

(And if your cashback is merely 'SNE style' on iPoker, you're just too lazy to grind it out )

I guess I should take back the part about no matter how you argue it there is always a loss, because that is clearly not true.
It remains somewhat speculative what the effect will be, but by default I would assume raising rake is bad and that the poker rooms will not reinvest their increase in profits that efficiently.

They essentially have to raise liquidity at lower stakes such that there is no loss in the quality of the games. Then recreationals would be the only net losers and both regs and service providers could benefit from this type of raise in rake.

I think high cashback also depends a lot on your skin. Only ones I know of are Coral and Betfair, though I am sure there are others.

That only happens to me if I disconnect, but once I reconnect and log back in I can get back on all my tables again. Def lost some money due to dqs this month, but they were from my end and I have now resolved the issues, if you can prove they are from ipoker's end you can maybe claim back the losses.

They might just admit to their wrongdoing if you ask them. When I was having problems I asked them if there had been reports of dqs and they said no. So make sure to report issues if you observe them and you think you are not at fault.
