Hi all,

1/2 plo with $5 bring in. V1 is action raising a lot but not an idiot postflop. V2 is tight passive. V3 is just spewing VPIPing everything. Hero has a tight image but is losing this session.

V1 opens $20 in co over V2 hj limp, V3 btn calls and hero calls AQJ75 nut hearts in sb.

($85): KQTddh. We have nuts with back door nut flush draw and middle pair. We check, checks to V1 $50, btn jams $95, hero calls, V2 check jams $300, V1 jams $800 (we cover).

Thanks,
DT

You have a bdfd and you also have a pair to block the future boats. Slim chance of backing into a boat too but you're likely against top set so that shouldn't matter much. Also prob against another AJXX, if AJ with diamonds just pray its one of the shorter stacks. Do you know if you have a diamond in your hand as well? I think if just AJ with no possible redraws just fold but with a bdfd and pair gotta just go with it.

Disclaimer: All of my PLO5 experience is from online.

We are basically fading a diamond or a board pair, to at best chop, and it could even be a 3 way chop.

I’d fold, even with BDFD.

What hands do you call then? Only top set or nut straight with the 2nd or nut flush draw?

Action is closed. I'm calling with the flopped nuts and backdoor hoping they all have each others outs

Very interesting spot .. and we could go down the 'range' rabbit hole for sure.

The 1st decision is where are we at with 'non-idiot' V1 when we are putting 500 in 2nd side. If we are chopping 50% of the time and flipping 50% of the time then you are putting in 500 in a EV=0 spot .. but you have to put in the 500 to even have a chance at the other two pots.

In the other pots we're putting in 200 to win 900/450/300 depending on the chops. This is +EV.

So it really comes down to how often we are offering a freeroll against V1 .. and is that going to offset any +EV in the other two pots when we are =EV against V1.

I'm just blasting here (no math), but if you give a 20% chance that V1 has a freeroll then it very well could be a fold because you are now going to lose 700 20% of the time, which is a $140 EV bite into any profits gained from chopping with V1, and possibly V2 as well.

Worst case is that you are putting in 700 to win 33% of $180 .. 85+95
Best case is all V are sharing cards and you bink the miracle 700 for 1400 story telling pot.

Just gotta be chopping with V2, eh? At best flipping v set/dd draws. GL
