Is this a nitty fold? Is this a nitty fold?

Playing 2-2 PLO and there's a mix of maniacs and straight forward players. I have about $400 in my stack. It's raised to $5 pre and everyone calls. I have 5/6/7/A with the Ace suited in Diamonds.

Flop is 5/5/2. I'm in middle position and it's checked to me and I bet pot of $45. Guy next to me who has been pretty tight and showing winners repots it. I'm sure he either has 5/2 or 2/2 which is essentially the same hand as I have 3 overs. I feel the flush draw is irrelevant.

Is this just a hand you get it all in knowing you're behind. I'm a 60/40 underdog, I folded as I just couldn't justify putting in the money when behind. Very nitty I know. FWIW he told me he had 2/2 and wanted to get me off the naked 5.

Then literally 2 hands later I have 6/7/8/10 double suited and flop is 6/6/10. I pot it and get repotted and one of maniacs has 10/10. So I wound up busting anyway lol.

I'm not potting it on flop unless I'm willing to get the rest in.

this is a terrible fold. you're getting 2:1 on a call and, on this specific board texture against a tight player, you can flat and then bomb any turn because the nuts will always change.

i would bet less than pot on this flop too. it's not the main thing in this hand, but it allows you to get called by hands you dominate, whereas a pot bet is pretty much going to narrow the field to the case 5 or better. note that you aren't even too worried about most straights since you will often fill up if they make their hand.

ham on rye, you just call half your stack on the flop? I think I just gii now. I guess you could make the case for shoving any turn.

yeah i mean read dependent, i think just gii now is fine too, but on this specific board i like a call and shove turn because of the board dynamic against a tight player. would be totally different on, say, TT8 with AKJT, even though the equities are similar, because anything under an 8 is a brick.

maybe this is a bit of fps but i have pushed people off made boats in this spot before, albeit usually it's better to have a psb left behind on the turn.

If you had bet 20 or 25 you could now call with 3 overs and check dark, folding if he pots turn and we miss. Probably stacking him if we hit.

Yes it’s a nitty fold. Don’t forget you are beating worse 5x with your A kicker, for example 4567 or random 5x danglers like KQJ5. I’m getting it in.
