$1,100 PLO main event - $150K guarantee

First flight of 3

Blinds 400/800/400(ante) - Chip avg was around $55K and I have around $75K. Villain has approximately $65K. 2 limpers and villain makes it $5K. I call on button with KJ(diamonds)107(hearts). Two limpers call so 4to flop and pot approximately $22K. Flop A hearts, Q spades, 10 hearts.

I flop Broadway with J high heart draw. Villain bets out $10K. Do you flat or raise here?

Are you rebuying? Either way is fine .. safe Turn you GII or press the issue now. What folds do you have on the Turn, if any?

So important to have a big stack in a PLO tournament and it's typically not good to passively play the nuts on a Board like this. You could have a re-draw or you cold be blocking. KQQJ-hh would stink.

I just see so many Players treating tournament like cash and willing to GII on a Board like this with a draw .. make um pay now. GL

I'd raise due to the heart draw out there - he's probably very strong betting a broadway board like this 4 way, so getting it in vs AA/nut hearts + 2pr/bare KJ is not a bad result. Think on a blank board no hearts I might lean towards calling.

Answer, was definitely rebuying.

My thought process at the time is he had AA probably with flush draw or at least dry Ace or he had also flopped Broadway and I was free rolling him. Decided to raise to $25K and he shoved. Obviously snapped.

Turn 7 clubs. River Q. He ended up having QQ109 with Q high hearts so one of the worst hands I could run into as he had the set and higher flush draw.

In cash snap getting it all in here, but in this spot later thought maybe it would have been a better play to see a turn and get it in then if no board pair or hearts (which it was in this case but would have most likely had the same result as I don't see him folding turn with his specific hand).

I'd raise, pot is quite large relative to Hero stack, and its ok if we win now.

If hero calls and villain checks turn, we also have awkward stack on river if he xc.

I think I lean towards 3b pre but don’t hate the flat.

On the flop I actually like flattin a lot, depending on opponent and reads in the hand.

4w he should be obv be very concerned someone flopped KJ and be very mindful how he plays sets/mediocre equity. Here’s where your reads come into play because if he is mindful about his range construction then raising just folds out his bluffs and gets it in vs a very strong range. That’s not bad but ut might not be optimal.

If he’s less mindful about his range construction in this spot raising becomes better because you punish those mediocre hands that maybe should have checked.

In these kind of spots there is a lot of opportunity for reads, four way people tend to leak a lot of tells in their timing and sizing combined with their player profile in this sort of spot. What hand do you think he’s weighted towards in this spot? What’s best vs that hand?

If you raise its pretty obvious you’re ripping a KJ kinda hand and you allow villain to make a fairy perfect decision. That doesn’t mean it’s bad but

Flatting underreps your hand and allows villain to make a very big mistake with mediocre holdings, like ripping crappy 2p or even 1p hands with a straight blocker.

Again, a bit of info on what he’s weighted towards and villain tendencies is gold in this kind of spot.
