GG Poker PLO10.

Hero (UTG): 160 BB
Villain (SB): 189BB. VPIP 34%, PFR 21%, ATS 78%, 3bet 14% over 1110 hands

Pre-flop: I limp with AQT4 ss. I don't normally limp from UTG but for some reason did this time. Folds to SB who bets pot (4BB). I call.

I figure SB has AAxx, KKxx, 4 card rundown ds, A+3card run down. Figure if they are betting pot here they have a strong hand as a weak one would check and see the flop.

Flop (2 players, $0.90 pot): 932 rainbow

Villain bets pots, I think about it and call. I probably should fold but figure a 4 gives me a straight (but not the nuts), the turn could also bring me a backdoor flush or backdoor straight. I find a lot of villains cbet here although usually its 50% pot and not 100%. Leaning towards a range of AAxx, KKxx or an overpair on this one although could be something like T987, 9876.

Turn ($2.70 pot): 5 (board 9325). There is now a possible flush draw but I don't have it although I do have one blocker.

Villain checks. I hit a straight, villain is slowing down here after betting pot on flop. My plan is to bet half pot on turn and river to get overpairs to call as I think I'm good here. I bet $1.35 and villain check raises pot here ($6.75 total).

I'm confused as to what the villain would have with a line like this. I don't expect villain to take this line with a bare overpair. I figure villain may do this with something like 6543, maybe A543, A654, AA4x, KK46.

What should we do?

Blocking the FD think we can safely fold. Could get really tricky and peel planning to bluff board pairing and flush rivers.

Fold the flop. You got nuthin. You are drawing to nuthin. The best card you can catch besides the your suited five does come. If you are going to fold when the card you are hoping for comes, don't call a bet to get that card.

As for what he has, my guess is the ace high flush draw with aces. You love that. If he has a four also, you hate that. The chances the guy has 64 are less than he does have it.

In the future, since you are uncomfortable in situations like this, consider sometimes checking the turn in position with the second nuts when you have no outs to improve, and hope to get value from the guy on the river. That may not be the most +EV way to play the hand, but it is lower variance and still +EV.

Or again, just fold the flop. Your hand is crap.

fold the flop. pre i don't mind if u have a suited ace, obviously playing raise or fold is more standard. i don't really think we can get away from this hand so we should continue by calling.

Fold flop, call turn. Villain has few 64xx hands.
