Limp the worst hand possible? Limp the worst hand possible?

Hello, NL guy that is a PLO-newb here....

Is there any hand in Omaha that you would fold to a limp bet when in position or SB multihanded?

My initial observation is that postflop equity change is so dramatic that almost any hand wants to see the flop deepstacked for 1 blind

(I'll hang up and listen)

Haven't got pocket quads just pocket 3 of a kind...yeah that 1 is dead 100%

... so i guess i readjust question:

play 2 5 6 9 rainbow for 1 blind on Button or SB multiway deepstacked?

With hands like that you will almost never have the nuts so you won't be able to take advantage of the implied odds of large stacks.

When you say "a limp bet" do you mean a single opponent limping in front of you and by "in position" do you mean button or perhaps cutoff when the button already appears to be folding (I call this the pseudo button)? This would apply to live (not online) games only.

With the above understood my answer comes from a live perspective which would assume you're playing in a game seating eight or nine players *. The last time I was "in position" facing only a single limper was about three years ago. And if it ever happens again I'll gladly fold my worst hands with little high card strength and not much connectivity or near nut making potential.

Although raw equity runs closer in Omaha than it does in holdem you can't win big pots (or avoid losing them) without playability. By playability I mean your hand has to have the ability to flop good draws or a strong hand with a redraw of some sort. Up front your entire hand needs to play at least reasonably well together. In back after several limpers (most common in live games) it's OK to have one sort of useless card but that's it *. A hand like KQJ2 no suits is an auto toss up front in all games but worth a call on the button or pseudo button in a limped pot. Your position makes up for the fact it's half a hand (you simply don't get much squeezing out of the blinds in most live Omaha so limping behind several limpers isn't a big issue).

I play in games with $5 or $10 big blinds (although sometime in Omaha I'll play in games with a $2 BB with a forced at least to $5 bring in). If you want to get good at this sort of live game focus on learning to play multi-way pots. That's where the money is.

* A hand such as AK65 no suit to the ace or king has two good holdem hands within but very little playability in Omaha. I'd toss it on the button after limpers and even for half a bet in the SB.

In a multi way pot you need hands that can make the nuts.

Thanks guys

Many lessons moving from NL to omaha

Quickly learning how weak top2pair and trips are for example basically a bluff catcher only

Everytime i fold "trash" it becomes the nuts after runner runner so feels like i am overfolding

what is a good PLO vpip if i am in the 25-35 range in NLHE?

thanks
