5-5-10 PLO. Hero has KKT8 with KTcc in EP. Limps to mega super station whale in str who makes it 85. I call we go 6 ways. He’s calling and betting on paired boards with bad gutters. He almost never folds before the river. Btn is unknown.

Flop (510) : Q88cc
Whale bets 125, Hero calls, btn calls

Turn (895) : Jx
Check check btn bets 250 whale calls Hero call

River (1645) : 9x
Check check btn bets 700 whale folds

Seeing as you haven't provided stack sizes I can only assume that you have infinite stacks, which makes your flop call really bad given villain description

Sorry I have 3.5K, he is 8K eff with btn. On flop I’m worried about having 4 players behind uncapped.

What do you think of river as played?

Worry about the players behind you when they do something. With an 8 blocker, it's unlikely they've got anything to continue with, you might have up to 3 outs to beat them anyway, but really the point is that the amount of value that's being offered up by a guy who chases gutshots on paired flushing boards when you have trips with a decent kicker is huge, and he's only bet a quarter of the pot. Make it $700 to go and watch him call and help your kids go to school.

River is a fold. It's very difficult for him to be value-betting the same or worse, and he's very unlikely to be trying to bluff both you and this fish. But I never get to the river like this, I would at least have bet the turn as played and raised the flop.

What was the exact action pre-flop? Where were you and how many players limped before you? I"d isolate a single raiser and if I was first to act I would be RFI. I don't have a limp range.

I limped, 4 limps, whale pots and everyone calls.

Initially I planned on limp raising to isolate the whale and get position. However, a very tight player who loves to limp raise with aces was in the hand.

I don't have any strong feelings about whether Hero should call or fold river.

Villain sizing on flop and turn is quite small, and river isn't even half-pot. Calling might be wrong but i doubt its a large mistake.

I think I would call as played.

1. Agree with raising preflop. This is a pretty decent hand and can play very well multi way

2. Agree with raising flop. Given the player description and the bet size so small I think the hand plays better as a raise. It has a hard time improving with pair in hand, its not a bad thing to force out another hand with trip 8s when you dont have great position. I could get on board a call if there were less players to the flop or if you were last to act.

3. As played, hard to see you being good on this river. I'd fold.

Raise pre.

Small raise on flop to iso whale is probably best line? and then **** yourself if button over-calls.

As played? Fold turn. Fold river. Just looks like boats all day. 8x, QQ, turned JJcc possible I guess. TBH sizing looks like QQ.

1) I like the raise PF with dead money and potential position on the Whale. Decent hand that turned into set mining when we go 6-ways

2) Turn and River bets look milky .. bigger ratio on River but still less than half pot .. I do think there's some folds in there especially with only 3 'real' outs. Could be a leak but I just don't ever feel good about trips with a pair in my hand and here it's the only overs we have.

3) Calling 700 to win 820 chop or lose? Too many combos of 8x from an unknown that made a FH .. but the only way for an unknown to become known is to call! I suppose there's some A8 out there that bets this way. GL

Sigh fold. QQxx, A98x, JJT9, JT99 hands are all realistic based on betting. We need a read before we can put enough bluffs or "value" river bets (like T8 or A8) into villain's range.
