Hi all,

5/5/25 BTN straddle. Hero UTG $100 with KJT98ds, three callers. $1,500 eff.

Flop ($400): 7h4c2s. Checks through. Really hoping for a good turn.

Turn: Td, badugi board. We have top pair and wrap now. Hero x, fish whale $100 (he bets everything including his draws), other fish all in $350, bad reg btn calls, hero decides to rip with top pair and wrap, hoping he is freerolling btn and can win side pot. Ok? Or flat better/lower variance? People say if not pushing equity edge don’t raise but if this is +EV then we should do it even if we could be “behind” btn who covers. Whale who bet turn has around $700. Pot is around $1,200 when on hero.

Thanks,
DT

Don't like jam, think we can consider conservative fold given the likelihood of dead outs and drawing to chops.

You gotta really trust your read, because AT is crushing you. Heck, even a random T is ahead of you.

Conservative fold is probably the best line, but if you feel like being a gambling degenerate I could see a call. Definitely not shipping though.

I would fold, no one will ever know besides you and 2p2

Fold. A wrap is not worth so much on the turn and top pair is nothing on the turn in PLO.

Seems like a rip given button never has a set - probably has a hand similar to yours or a low two pair+. Can't imagine we don't have good equity here and maybe get him to fold some better hands.

Gotta say I didn't expect the last part:

ProPokerTools 5-Card Omaha Hi Simulation
600,000 trials (Randomized)
board: 742T
Hand Pot equity Wins Ties
KJT9843.44% 240,54740,150
T56.56% 319,30340,150

...although we are ahead of all straight draws. Kind of:

ProPokerTools 5-Card Omaha Hi Simulation
600,000 trials (Randomized)
board: 742T
Hand Pot equity Wins Ties
KJT9849.32% 271,18749,490
T65:40%50.68% 279,32349,490

I don't really like any options, I probably sigh call in game if I thought original better less likely to shove (and fold if more likely to). Folding either way is likely better though.

Also with the straddle "whale" is like 32bb deep at the start of the hand? Good luck not degen gambling.
