thoughts on flop play and river thin value bet?

good but i like a much bigger river bet - checking the flop caps your range (ok you also check back some occasional nut straights but not that many when the A of hearts isn't on board) - and you can have plenty of KK/QQ type hands that might consider bluffing too, and it's not like you have sets very frequently nor would bet your sets very frequently either.

bet folding when using a large sizing?
bet calling when using a small sizing?

Don't worry about that. Just bet big. You're unlikely to get raised, but when you do, make a decision that's probably fold and be happy

I see many players pot the river here with the effective nuts. But do they ever have 33% bluffs there? It seems like it becomes very easy to fold to big bets... Not saying it's wrong in this spot to bet big... But how are we polarized ourselves?

We can 33% too, but here we are unblocking hands like AAQ and AKJ that have pretty easy calls on river.

I think either you bet the flop with plans to barrel turn/river or just check and try to make a flush. I think once he bets the turn it's clear he has some SDV and won't be folding - I don't think it really matters what you bet on the river as I don't see him folding esp with the missed hearts.

I didnt really think about his range as a whole in game, which is a big mistake. his range is full of sets, 2pr and blockers that can easily call a big bet.

his 3B range is like
- 30% AAxx or KKxx
- ds 3 broadway hands ( 26% of his 3b range)
- ds pairs (QQ-22) including dp accounting for another 16%
then 22% for single suited unpaired





from villains POV he will have some KQ im sure but most of his range will be 2pr-sets and whiffs like AQ88hh, etc. when you factor in that he will likely barrel river after betting turn with his whiffs and only x/r his strongest whiffs that cant hero (QQJ8 no hearts for example) i think im definitely on board with a big bet here now that ive actually looked at his range and see how many 2pr combos he will have.



I also know for some this is a no-brainer but i have to "see" it before i can get behind a line. after going through monker and looking at the ranges i am now behind it.

Also now I dont think i should have a 1/3 size on this board type, either large or check because most of my range will be polar here anyway. what are your thoughts about that?
