Feel like i played this hand terribly, having trouble deciding on the best line though. Probs either bet flop bigger or check for control, but i felt if i checked i was gonna get owned like 90% of the time. Probs ended up getting owned anyway... ideas?

That's a pretty bad flop for you. You can't win every hand. Not digging the flop sizing without plans though, as he's clearly not gonna fold often.

gotbluffing i don't know how you view your opponent, but vs anyone competant you shouldn't remove QJ from his range just because he didn't raise the flop. Turn as played i much prefer a check / decide than a b/c, as he rarely shoves his semi bluffs when checked to because his equity is usually so poor with nfd or whatever.

I prefer c/c flop, c/f turn OR b/f flop, c/f turn. Might seem passive but you're gonna run into nuts way to often here.

Villain is a very floaty, kinda tricky reg. I don't 3bet pre because I feel he's gonna play back at me a bit on later streets and i'd much rather 3bet a hand with more realised equity like a rundown etc. Anyways..

Hero (SB): $5622.95
BB: $1980.00
UTG: $2000.00
CO: $6901.40
BTN: $420.85

BB posts a big blind ($20)

Pre Flop: ($40.00) Hero is SB with K A K 5
1 fold, CO raises to $70, 1 fold, Hero calls $50, 1 fold

Flop: ($160.00) 7 T J (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $120, Hero calls $120

Turn: ($400.00) A (2 players)
Hero bets $300, CO calls $300

River: ($1000.00) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $750,

I feel flop is standard, turn I'm thinking I might have the best hand and he'll fold, or if he calls I can barrell again like I did. He should be folding 2p / set / 89 on river given my line is pretty strong and theres not much else than the nuts i can have here. All ok?

Like the way you played it from the turn on against decent/ok players, don't like it so much against fish or very good players.

I think it's okay if you balance it. I like bigger bets on turn and river. don't really see 89 or sets folding though TBH

Given that you're OOP and you have just pair+GS+BDFD, flop is gonna be quite hard to continue on profitably if you're not planning on repping/taking it away on future streets. But apparently you did have such plans, so all good.

What I meant is that a great player's thought process isn't limited to "It's so clear he has KQ here, what else can he have, easy fold with 98.", which is what the bad reg is certainly thinking at this point. Then again I'd still fire, cause even though strong players will call you down more often than ABC regs, they're still gonna have a really hard time doing so, you have blockers, gotta balance your frequencies, etc.

Especially with stacks, I think the only way you're getting him off something is if you throw in a c/r somewhere

feel kinda silly for posting this. villain is good, aggro reg. if we don't stack off here, at what stack depth is it correct to? assume that his potting range is balanced as well

hmmm, mixed thoughts on that one. If you flat, is he capable of bet/folding turn? pot would be 1100 he'd have 3500, he'd bet like 750 or something, then fold if you shove? I don't know if many people are betting 950+ to fold. But anyway, I'd be much more inclined to call if him betfolding turn is possible/likely, because thats the most plus EV scenario imo.

Ramble...I guess easy answer, lean toward ship cause your OPP, IP i'd call (a lead).
