not to be a douche but how many people graduate every year ? it's nothing special really.
When I graduated 6months ago I felt like that was a really standard accomplishment and I had nothing to be proud of, it's just the beginning of everything, you've done nothing yet (by graduating; you might have accomplished more in some other segment of your life). I find it loltastic how so many people make such a big deal of it.

congratz though

Are you guys talking about High School or College/University. Its possible people are talking about different things here.

I treat either as a non-event. But then again, i don't really celebrate much.

As poker players you guys might not appreciate the importance of graduating since we're all self-employed but I still think it's definitely an accomplishment worth congratulating.

For 1, I'd say congrats on attaining a degree which will most likely help you earn more money/give you more freedom in the future should you choose to leave poker. Also, I think college is the first optional situation where you know going through with it will be + life ev but it's a ton of work and sometimes a huge headache that's certainly lined with temptations so more importantly I'd say congrats on maturing into a man who can handle his ****.

So, congrats and gl bro.

Getting very annoying logging onto ftp everyday to see all the 5/10 games running at shortstack tables only...

What are the standard monthly swings 4 tabling 2-4 to 5-10 mostly 2-4 and 3-6 for someone that plays roughly 28/18/7? Say over 60-80k hands per month

Idk how it is in USA, but when 80% of the people you went to high school with graduate from uni/college, its not really a big thing. I mean, in UK, you have to do next to nothing to go to school and not graduate. Getting a 1st or 2.1(again dont know the equivalent) is worthy of a congratulations.

I got a 2:1 and did nothing until the final month of the final year.

I think a 1st is the only mark worthy of real praise because it usually indicates a sustained effort. And even then some courses are so easy even a 1st wouldnt be that tough.

i was totally joking about congratulating me on graduating. i think it was more for the parents than for the students tbh. i just think i'd much rather see my son graduate than graduate myself.

the weekend was veerrryyy tiring for me but graduation itself was surprisingly fun.

i also managed to squeak out cum laude.

I agree but also disagree. I don't think it's necessarily the most +EV choice you can make. If you know what you want out of life and you have a plan for it, you can make an argument for not doing school.

Personally I believe for myself that school is -ev. I have no motivation at all to work for anyone or be controlled in any environment and I have plans for how I want to achieve wealth. Outside of just monetary decisions, as of right now it's a much higher life ev to not do school. I actually may go back but if I do it's only going to be part-time (lol at taking another 3 years to finish) to make the asian parents ^_^

I always recommend finishing school for anyone who ask.

on the river, did you try to think of any 4 card combo that you could beat, realize there are zero, and then call anyway?

It's HU so there's some history, he can beat any bluff unless the guy is willing to bluff an overpair there, and he can beat specifically 8xxx and 2xxx. And various gutshot floats.
