I feel like i havent been betting correctly on rivers where i bet on previous streets and hit my hand. ex would be a 15-20 bb turn bet with something like a nut fd and double gut shot. Player calls obviously and i bet big on river like close to pot... Is it worth it (very generally speaking) to or rather re we better off betting in general something like half pot? Or when calling a sizeable bet to or even more so and you hit a draw same bet around 15-25 bbs deep stacked 150bbs or deeper should we bet more in the 40-80 percent range mostly around 60 percent pots on these hands again please read what i write in response im speaking generally about these hands. tyvm appreciate it.

Speaking generally if you are IP on river with the nuts you should bet pot. You can have 2 sizes IP (1/2 pot and pot), but that gets complicated.

So when opponent most like has either straight or a set and the pot is already100 to 150 bbs you suggest a full pot bet when flush gets there? I'm thinking for morale reasons and it shouldn't matter to much if both equal out in longrun but I'd like to get paid you say either or half pot or full size pot sorry didn't understand I was thinking about sixty percent should be hard to fold but fifty percent should get paid often even more

If you think of the pot size and the frequency of calling as two axes on a graph, a straight line means that they call more often on a small bet and less often a big bet in perfect proportion. If it were actually this linear in reality it wouldn't really matter and you can mix your bet sizes up and you get the same EV from a big bet that gets called very rarely and a small bet that is far more likely to be called. To some degree this is true, and the idea 'do different things with the same hand' means you can sometimes just decide to pot your nut flush just because you would sometimes do that as a bluff too and sometimes decide it's the right spot to bet 1/2 or 2/3rd or sometimes go funky with a 1/4. But the distribution of hands that the frequency of calling is in fact lumpy rather than smooth. Those lumps that lead to deviation from that perfect calling frequency straight line graph are areas to target to make his hands indifferent to calling or folding.

Don't know if that's completely right or whether I've explained it incorrectly, happy to hear where I'm wrong.

Your right I'm becoming to robotic in my play all around from grinding online.. I forgot that those bluffs get through seems like people are calling these spots online more often here more like live but just kinda was trying to see for the long haul grind just to know the info of what a "correct" bet might be to get called here more often than not just in a vacuum.

To me I'm thinking now it over and to get called more often I'd say a 40% bet is pretty proper maybe a little less actually I really don't know my question is how often do people fold straights or sets on these boards to a flush facing the median fifty percent bet I'd say it def. Depends but again in a vacuum interested to hear response I don't know really.. weird question I know

I think if you river a suited ace, you size down. you'll have many less nut flushes than before that card arrived and opponent will have more meaning you can't support the bigger sizing when checked to. There are other spots to size down but more frequently when top card pairs.

Wait until you realize you have to double barrel something to bluff when you get here!

not to be contrary at all but wouldnt the ace mean opponent is less likely to believe you were chasing larger bets to hit a non nut flush? think i understood what you said if not appologize.

db bluff? i cant make sens of that like the opponent has to db bluff? i dont nunderstand

What if I told you, you don't have to have a flush when you bet pot? I may get banned for saying this, but if you think someone is overfolding in spots you can 'pretend' you have a good hand to get your opponent off a good hand.

I don't like messing around by calling in flops and turns with air not thinking to mug but what is your plan with your hand in this situation? Besides hoping for a flush to bluff with when opponent could have fd as well. Calling 25bb bets hoping for a flush card and than hoping villain doesn't call isn't spots I want to be out in to much edge in other areas but I should think of it more so thank you for that

Who said anything about air? What are the worst hands you get to the river with? 2 pair? Bottom set!? If you know he folds a straight when you pot, why wouldn't you bet pot with those hands!?

i just dont feel comfortable that way your right and sometimes it works for me but not approach i like to take nothing wrong with that though im just not good at seeing those things... wasnt thinking when i said air.... how often do you think that happens now that you say it when a flush hits specially when opponent has ace plus bottom set or twop. just overall how often is someone getting bluffed at when the flush hit for a full pot bet 25 percent???

Next time you reach the river in a spot like this, think about all the hands you have in that spot and bet big with the strongest and weakest. Think about your opponents range and think about what hands your hand blocks. Maybe post a hand in PLO forum. That's the best I can explain it and only way to get better in by practice.
