Hello,

I am curious what everyones general heuristics are for multiway pots on the flop, turn and river. Too put it simply, are you just playing much tighter and more abc? If the turn or river becomes heads up. Are you playing closer to solver approved heads up theory?

I’m definitely playing really tight in multi-way pots. The lower the stakes the more likely I have seen people playing any four cards which means you often run into weird combos that are the nuts on unlikely boards like low paired cards etc. When I can get it heads up i hope I’m closer to solver actions.

If it’s a donk game bro tight AF OOP, loosen up when you have position.

People expect you to play very tight, so surprise them with light cbets on boards they're not likely to have hit. Some who say 'oh he's cbetting headsup, that doesn't mean he has anything' will all of a sudden think 'he's cbetting 4-ways? he must have flopped the quad 2s!' and let you take it down.

This is also true on rivers where some will be in bluffcatching mode but then think 'oh he's bet into multiple opponents, he must have it'. Just remember you're allowed to bluff multiple opponents. That's not to say you should, regularly, but there are creative aggressive players in headsup pots that resort to fit or fold in multiway pots.
