Hey Guys, wasn't sure what to do in this spot. Sorry if it might be an easy answer, still learning PLO strategy.

Playing 0.5/1 PLO4 3 handed online with two guys I play with all the time. V1 is crazy and likes to bink, V2 is solid.

stack sizes: V1 (755.45), V2 (639.63), Hero (1077.45)


Hero in the BTN with A563ss limps (I misclicked and meant to open to pot)

V1 in sb limps, V2 in bb raises to 4. I call and V1 calls.


$12 to flop: As 4s 2h.


V1 checks, V2 pots $12, I call, V1 repots to $60. V2 calls and I call.

$192 to turn: As 4s 2h [Qd]

V1 bets 144. V2 calls. Hero ?


I feel like this could be the spot to rip it, but I know I'm getting no folds. If these guys have draws am I supposed to rip it here, or wait to see a clean river? I'll post results later

I can’t tell if you are single suited or have spades. I assume by your comments you don’t have spades. You still have nuts with redraw and getting it in on the turn is an ok result.

But digging further, we need to range v1 here. Is he raising with a small set? Not likely. I think his only reasonable hand is either a large draw like nfd + gutter, which there aren’t many available, or more likely, a wheel. I suppose a small set and non nut fd could do this too.

You have two good options on the turn and which one you choose depends on how crazy V1 actually is. He potted flop but didn’t pot turn. Does he usually go pot pot pot with nuts? Would he take this line with A4 and mediocre spades? Is he blasting off for 750 bigs with blockers?

Being so deep against an unknown I would probably flat and play rivers in position. More information on V1 could easily make this an easy jam.

I was single suited. Blocked 1 spade. V1 is kinda wild, I've seen him 3bet jam with the nut flush blocker and weak two pair on a 3 club board and get called by the second nuts. At this point I think he either has the nut spade draw, or some big combo draw.

Results: I flat, river comes spade, V1 jams for 535, V2 tank calls, I fold.

V1: nut flush
V2: second nut flush

What was V1s hand? If he’s going crazy with K987ss that makes me want to get in on turn.

That said this result is fine and you may have caught a huge river punt if they missed.
