Beginner in PLO: ZOOM or normal tables? Beginner in PLO: ZOOM or normal tables?

I'm a NLHE player, but I would like to learn/transition to PLO. What is in your opinion a better way to learn PLO fundamentals: ZOOM or normal tables? I'm comfortable playing 3-4 normal tables or 2 zoom.

Definitely normal ones.

Zoom doesn't have same kind of dynamics and you don't see every hand from the start to finish aka you can't learn that much from your opponents (or you can, but no one does that) and how people generally play plo.

Also, do you become faster at evaluating your starting hand (and later how it hits the board)? Like if you only need one second and you know if this hand is a CO open, or 3bet?

Right now it takes me quite a long time to consciously determine if the hand's an open or not. And don't get me started on how good I think I hit flops with rundowns..

One more thing: is full ring PLO alive? Will it be in couple years?

Its like any other game, skill, or hobby you pickup. The more you play, the better you'll get, and the easier it will be to process all that info. Think back to when you started playing holdem, probably took more than a few seconds to figure out what the nuts were if you just dealt out a random 5 card board. After years of playing, if you were to do the same, you could pick out the best hand almost instantly. Same goes for PLO.

6 max is the present and the future. I hardly ever see any FR tables at stars, and a FR table at ipoker is equivalent to seeing a lunar eclipse.

Back in the day FR seemed to be all over the place, but now 6 max is where its at.

When you're just starting out, focusing on raising quality hands and limiting the amount of time you play out of position are key. After you get comfortable, you can look into more active 3betting IP and the fine art of playing out of position and spewing money

From strictly a volume stand point, zoom is great if you fire up 4 tables.

From an educational perspective, it is not how most PLO games run and focusses more on folding until you get a good hand. Standard rings games actually allow you to learn player tendencies, see hands from start to finish (as previously mentioned) and develop your game.

You can definitely learn from zoom, but if you're just starting out, I would suggest the slower pace of standard ring games.

Obviously zoom.

Otherwise you'll spend hours without playing a hand, and focusing on learning how your opponents play is useless if you don't know how to play the game itself.
You'll get a good sample on good regs in 25plo and further, otherwise almost everyone are just randoms which you'll only have a good sample size in months.

If you want to see a hand where you folded but there was a lot of action, just open your tracking software and replay them, much better and faster lol

I dont think playing zoom without feel is smart. After that its if one prefers tight zoom with less people aspects.
