my normal live game here runs 3 days/week. 5/10 and sometimes bigger, good action, fun group, etc.
been trying out some other day games but its slim pickings. went to a 2/5 game today. most of table bought in for $300. game was pretty tight and i played accordingly. stole a few pots etc but overall played snug.
about an hour in, folds to co who opens to $40 (lolz, wtf?). i am in bb with pocket tens and put him all in cause he only has $205. pretty standard (i think...?)
anyway, guy tanks. asks me some questions. i just look at him dumbfounded and say nothing. i was in shock that he was taking so long. HE TANKS FOR TWO MINUTES. SERIOUSLY, NOT EXAGGERATING.
he finally calls. he says: "you got aces?"
i start laughing so hard. finally i stopped laughing enough to say no. he flips up two kings.
wow. thats some funny ****. he was not slowrolling, he was genuinely thinking about folding.
i tell the game host i am leaving and to bring me some racks. meanwhile, i get a hand. the old kc3c on the button.
same nit pops some limpers to $40 flat. i call. **** it.
flop j33 weeeeeee, nice flop
he looks at me, then flop, then his stack, then me about 19 times. then checks. i check.
turn 2
he looks at me, then flop, then his stack, then me about 19 times. then checks. i check.
river 2 for a j3322
he looks at me, then flop, then his stack, then me about 19 times. then checks. i check.
him: "damn, i was trying to trap you, thought u might bluff." then tables pocket jacks.
i flip over my hand then stand up and leave. fun game.
tl;dr
cliffs: a tight live hold em game is like...
