5-handed, blinds $5 and $5, max you can bet on any street is $100.

I have a stack of $400 and open Td8c7d5c UTG to $25. Is this fine? All 4 guys call.

Flop: Tc5d4h (pot: $125). Both blinds check. I bet $100 because I probably have the best hand? But UTG2 (who covers) raises to $200. And the Button (also covers) cold-calls. The Blinds fold.

It’s $100 to me. I have $275 behind. Is this an easy decision? If so—what is it?

Oh shoot I messed up. The flop was

Flop: Tc5h4h.

If that changes anything!

RESULTS:

WELL I did reraise to $300. UTG2 and the Button called it.

Turn: Tc5h4h 9c (pot: like a zillion bucks)

Well that’s a pretty neat Turn when I have Td8c7d5c. I put in my last $75. They both call again.

River: Tc5h4h 9c 3c

Bink??? UTG2 checks (yay!) but Button bets $100. UTG2 folds, I table my flush and Button tables…..AKJ2hh for a wheel. I win somehow!!!

Pre-flop, this is fine hand to open. It's on the marginal low end of things, but it's totally fine. Getting 4 callers is not ideal as you really want a smaller number of opponents with your crappy double suited hand.

Leading for max is good. Pot is big, two people have checked, your are probably best now as you have the T5 blockers, you also have a gutshot and you have two backdoor flush draws. You couldn't have flopped much better.

When it comes back to you - I don't know... I've never played spread limit. But it doesn't matter, raise, call, just don't fold. Raising is perfectly reasonable. You are getting 2-1 on that reraise and probably have the most equity.

Turn: not a great card considering it will hit many of the Txxx hands your opponents might have so your 2pr is counterfeited... but it's irrelevant, you were going all-in on 100% of turn cards.

River: cool

Button play is pretty reasonable if he had Ah.. he would have nut flush draw + wheel for his flop call... on the turn pot is so big it doesn't matter.

Can probably limp this hand in a donk game instead of inflating the pot with dogshit OOP.

Is limping ever okay in this game?

Yeah, Button had the nut flush draw. I guess when you flop the NFD on an unpaired board in this spread-limit game there’s really no folding.

I think you played it ok. I probably lean fold on flop without the gutter and bdfd, like if you hat AT85.

Pretty standard stack-off on the flop with top 2 and redraws at a relatively low SPR - lots of your utg opens won't connect nearly as well.

You could always call and fold hearts or something to optimize a little better for spread limit format but even taking that into consideration you may still prefer to fastplay.

UTG2 told me afterwards that he had a set of tens, so I was drawing REALLY thin on the flop. As usual!

Having a 100$ cap bet in a 5-5 plo game is weird, your pretty much playing limit omaha post flop

I think its fine how you played it, utg+2 saying he had TT sounds like bs

Yeah….I mean, why wouldn’t he just make it $400 on the Flop with the nuts? There’s no advantage to being “deceptive” in this format,” the Button was calling down regardless.

Can’t believe he lied to me!
