Am I playing too tight in DB bomb pots? Am I playing too tight in DB bomb pots?

I've read and tried to follow the general strategy tips for double board plo bomb pots. Not betting early position, trying to prioritize a big hand on one board as opposed to medium hands on two boards, etc.

What in finding after playing several sessions is that I'm basically never putting money in the pot, and I'm just donating the ante. Is it really normal to fold the flop on nearly every bomb pot, and just wait around for the right spot? Obviously I could be running bad and just not making hands, but it's been enough sessions that I think it's a flaw in my strategy. Does anyone else feel this is happening to them, folding nearly every time?

What are the games like? Are they the kind of games with lots of action where a mini heater will win all the money back you have lost from folding?

Best thing to do is post hands where it feels like you are on the border of playing too tight

What kind of sample size are we talking?

But variance in bomb pots is enormous, moreso if game doesn't have a devoted bomb btn - later positions are much more valuable.

Playing tighter is a good adjustment but its certainly possible Hero should be betting more often and maybe considering more bet sizes.

Bomb pots can be fairly lucrative for the most skilled players, so sticking with a conservative strategy until you increase your experience is still probably correct.

Also re: the general strategy you mentioned, its possible you are misinterpreting some things you have read and/or maybe not receiving the best advice - most people aren't qualified to give good advice in bomb pots and if they are they have probably worked with PLO solvers for single-board

Betting from early positon is still allowed but in large MW pots we want a sound hand to do so. I sometimes might use a small sizing like 20-25% psb from early position because it allows me to bet w a much larger range.

Also, trying to prioritize a big hand on one board is not necessarily correct. You want to prioritize scoop potential and nuttiness for showdown. Hero wants to have hands with good playability on (at least some )dynamic turn cards.

While you are holding 6x the possibilities than you hold in NL, 'correctly' hitting the Board in PLO is still pretty difficult. And in Bomb Pots you are asking your 'random' holding to hit two Boards or 'smash' one Board for sure .. while having no information on your opponents hand values via no betting round PF.

If you have one strong possibility, then you need some dead money in the pot in order to show a profit. Remember that you are only 'winning' 50% of your chips back in a split pot game. So if it's 3-ways and you have to put in 500, your profit is 'only' 250

If you can scoop, then it's not so bad going HU. But you still need to be aware of how to make the nuts since your opponent may hold a similar goal and you may end up being quartered. GL
