Hi all,

Loose player raises to $20, hero 3! AKJ87ds a-high k-high to $80 in SB, bb cold calls, limper short stack jams $100, we are four ways with one all in and a dry side pot.

Flop ($400): 689 with both our bdfds, we are open ended with a pair and a nut gutter. Is there any merit to betting here first to act? Maybe get a fold out of QQ or something or get value from something like TJQ. I wasn't sure.

I wouldn't bet here first to act even if it was 3 ways all live players. Dry side pot not changing anything other than making it more of a check which is not really possible because I was 100% checking anyway

Pure check. Hand just doesn't have enough equity or fold equity to stab. If 2 players checked to Hero there is a better argument.

Spr was under 1 on the flop still checking I assume? I may have been off my game as I just lost a $2.5k pot with top set.

What are stacks then? For all remaining players.

At low SPRs Hero can consider shove sure, but this is not a flop Hero needs to overcommit too, there is a good chance one of 3 opponents will have connected much harder and will be hard to blast off.

Best case scenario Hero can squeeze out middle player because he is concerned last player will jam.


Note that Hero has below average equity vs any reasonable ranges (probably 23%) on the flop, so trying to promote our hand strength with a shove is optimistic, let's not overthink the backdoor draws - just a pair of 8 and non-nut OE sd is a weak holding multiway.

Don’t think this hand makes a great 3b if it’s likely to go multi way.

This flop is bad, both the straight draws are non nut and we are in terrible shape against continues. Not to mention how bad it will get if we gii multi way. I would check fold.

The hand is a fine 3b. It's just a bad flop.

One thing I didn't comment on first time round was that because its a dry side pot, it will check through more often than if it weren't a dry side pot.

Some of our best flops like T9x and K high flush draws go down in value when we’re multi way. The same can be said for top two.

Disagree. AK double is high equity not to mention all the side cards are connected with each other. Hard to get these kind of starting hands in 5c PLO.

Regardless, there is a limper and a loose player raising. If this isn't a premo spot I dunno what is.

It’s a great spot and an ok hand to do it with. I don’t fault OP for 3b and I probably would some of the time, but I’d make it 60 so I can threaten a rejam, which hopefully gets us heads up for the side pot.
