Hi all,

There are two limps to hero in HJ who make it $125 with AJT73ds A-high J-high hhcc and we go three ways:

($400): QQJr. Checks through.

Turn: 7d brining bdfd. EP limper bets $225, only hero calls. I decide to look him up since flop checked through it looks like no one is interested in the hand but I have some showdown value and am blocking a lot of his full house combos he could be betting for value with my J and 7. Of note, I have seen this V stab paired flops before when it checks through.

River ($850): 8c, bricking the fd but bringing in T9 (which we block). V fires $425. We only need to be good 25% of the time here if we call right? Given this V's propensity to rep these boards should we hero?

Thanks,
DT

Always post stacks. I lean fold on river as played.

Hero mostly beats some nut diamond draw semi-bluffs like akxxx. Some of which included t9 and got there.

I would mix some small cbets on flop with checkback.

Not sure I like the call on the turn.

With everything you said, i think you should call the river. Its 5c plo, not sure if he even bets T9 for value(i doubt people expect a call here from AA,KK,AJ)or leads it on the turn. You unblock diamonds too

But i think a better play would be raising on the Turn to ~750. He will be in a terrible spot with a lot of hands that have a lot of equity vs our hand and we can take down a nice pot without facing a tough decision on a lot of river cards.
Of course i am checking the flop here with some QJ or JJ type hands so we should be balanced enough

Is this really a good hand in 5c Omaha? Looks better for O8.

We get a lot of points for having a suited ace and AJT7 is working together nicely. The secondary suit is not to be sneezed at. I wouldn't go so far as to iso a couple of limpers from the HJ with this hand, but I'd probably open it if it were folded to me on the CO. Definitely I would open it on the button.

What do you think would be the 4 card equivalent? The 3 seems useless.

The 3 is not useless, Hero can make wheel and 7 high straight.

It's not easy to compare 5 card to 4 card hands since playability and raw equity are both different but something like AJT5ds.

Both hands have A blocker, wide broad coverage and respectable equity even when dominated by bigger broadway cards.
