Hi all,

Low stakes rush cand cash, i am on the button with AdAcTc6s and 75BB.

LJ sitting on 250BB opens to 2.5BB, folds to me and I reraise pot to 9BB, LJ calls everyone else folds. Pot 19.5BB and I am left with around 55BB, so SPR is just under 3.

Flop (19.5BB): Ks3h7d, check, I pot and Villain reraises me all-in. I call.

Will give his hand after first understanding if betting was correct or not. I thought I can get called by AKxx, KQxx, or any other hand I am ahead of and want to charge max. No obvious draws and I am not deep. If I check i am rather giving him a free card than myself, since i have very few improvers, while he could improve on any card between 8 and Q or any BDFD.

Thanks for any input!

I think IP, in this situation I would lean towards a much smaller bet - like 1/3rd pot. The idea is that middle of your range crushes the middle of his range nad you both have about the same amount of nutted hands (sets), so you want to encourage range vs range interaction. You want to take advantage of your position.

Flip this situation a bit and let's say you are in the SB nad now you are OOP, but your hand and the board are the same, now I am gong to lean towards betting pot to reduce the advantage of the in position player and take advantage of our range advantage.

Really good points, thanks!

If it goes bet 1/3 and call, I can see how different turns and rivers might be played.

But what if he reraises pot on the flop after bet 1/3? Insta fold?

I actually looked at this earlier today as I was curious. If you bet small and hence pot it’s a pure fold as his xr range should be polarized but your hand isn’t doing great against the bottom of his polarized range and is getting crushed by the top part. Also most people aren’t balanced at all here and a xr is really strong.

What is more interesting is what if he xr 50%? FlopHero has this as super close and thinks you should continue if and only if you have a back door flush draw, but your specific hand is a fold as it has nothing.

Getting xr sucks but you really get to make good decisions in that situation due to the smaller bet size.
