Hi all,

5/5/15 UTG straddle. Limps to hero with AsAcKcJh6h who makes it $100 in BB, straddle calls, limper pro backraises $250, folds to hero who 4! $910, V calls. $2,400 eff, $1500 after the 4!.

Flop ($2k): Qc3s2s. We didn’t improve but still have AA and the nut flush blocker. Spr is like less than one. Hero? V is apparent pro and he seems to pick on hero, maybe he thinks he has an edge (probably does).

Thanks,
DT

Weird back raise but not a bad flop for AA. Obv GII - if he snaps you off you'll probably see a lot of Q+FD

Do you have an argument for anything other than jamming? What is thought process here?

We didn't improve, and a good pro will not call this sizing unless he has AA in bad shape. We block nfd so his calling range is going to be more Qx-plus heavy which means we are flipping at best.

It's just so annoying to be in this spot against a good player, he's the last one I want to be in a big pot against. Maybe I should have flatted pre.

you want him to call if he only has you in bad shape (which makes me doubt the fact that he's a good pro) since he'll be folding a massive amount of equity

He called with 3x, a 7-high flush draw, and bdnfd (A3678 I think).

any hand that contains some piece of the flop is a call here, like JT983 no spades

his hand is a no brainer snap unless you say hello! flip over an ace of spades and make a come at me bro motion and probably even then

What do you make of his backraise?

I don't have a slightest idea

Some kind of a weird power move where he tries to buy initiative with a poor hand that doesn't flop particularly well either, best case scenario it goes 3 way with SPR of 3 and good luck to him. Maybe he spaced out and thought he was playing PLO8 idk

You can just easily pile your entire BB opening range (which I assume is plenty tight already) against him next time he does something like that and print

This line is pretty questionable from a good pro - whether pot stays HU or mw he is never pushing equity and there are lots of negative implied odds post.

He's asking you to define your range when he back-raises. A bunch of his hands here will be 45% - 55% dogs versus your Aces.

Dunno, I imagine there are benefits to isolate vs OP.

I mean A3678 is a garbage hand so I question how good this "pro" is, esp with the odd backraise, and the fact that you have AA or a big nutty rundown a lot here. He's lucky his flush draw was live - based off of this hand I don't see how he's crushing anyone.

Why would you assume he won't call a 3/4 pot bet all-in unless he has AA crushed? Do you fold this flop with less than 65% equity in his shoes or something? That sounds expensive!

Anyway, you're likely overestimating this players skill level.
