Hi all,

$25 btn straddle on in 5-5 game and hero is utg1 and overlimps AAJ32ss to ace, not very good AA pretty OOP, gonna have poor playability on a lot of flops, so just limp this one.

Couple more limpers and stuck short stack in CO makes it $200 (...!), folds to hero who backraises to $725, attempting to get it HU, folds to MP2 in for $25 who unexpectedly re-jams (live spazz factor lol...maybe he put us both on AA?), CO calls, hero calls (obv.). I had $1,000 to start the hand and MP2 covers.

This one seemed pretty standard to me, except for the limper suddenly backraising, which was an unwelcome surprise since this spot is much less +EV now.

Also, what % of your bankroll would you consider a "big" losing session? I am fiddling with my stop loss as I win more in my winning sessions but don't want to overdo it.

Thanks,
DT

Hand's obviously fine and standard.

I've never really considered this because I usually just stop when I feel I'm tilted by the losses. If you're not tilted, don't use a stop loss. I'd consider a "big" amount to be ~10% but this is obviously going to vary from person to person depending on the size of the bankroll and their goals in poker.

This is from 9/28 and it's in bbs, not $$:

I lost ~1500bbs in ~45 minutes or 250ish hands which is absurd. This was a $2k ds in $ (and I only play up to 1/2 w/$200 bi) and if I'd use some kind of stop loss from my peak, I'd have just quit when I got to even $$ wise or down $x but it don't matter if you play on or play the next day. As long as you're playing well, you shouldn't quit because of the results.

Hand seems fine. These aces are pretty weak, so we need to tread cautiously, as we will often have the lowest equity if we get it all in 3way for example.

For bankroll, the absolute number of BI is less important than an amount where it can tilt you or dictate you move down in stakes because of risk in ruin.

Online, i can think of many times where i lose at least 5-6 all-ins in under 15 minutes at 1 table playing 100bb 6max. 15 BI is less likely, but far from unheard of.

Why do you conclude that? Because you assume he has AA?

Do you even math bruh? Kidding. It’s close in terms of $ but our equity is definitely worse multi-way. Probably was thinking equity but said EV. Likely make a little more multi-way than HU.

I math, that's why I asked. You shouldn't be caring that your win percent goes down. What matters is your EV. You have to cut up the equity of the $85 dead money three ways now, so yes that's small bad, but unless he has a much better AA, you like getting it in the side pot against the reraiser.
