Loose 5-handed Omaha game online. I was trying to play AAxx early position in a way that didn’t advertise too much pre-flop. I have been running into a problem with players correctly assuming AAxx after a reraise pre-flop, people still calling (isolation not happening), then when no A hits they get more aggressive esp. when hero is OOP. If an A does hit, people don’t pay you off. I don’t know that it makes sense to play AAxx the way I did below, however. I probably should have gone ahead and potted after villain pre-flop re-raise, though it might not have gotten me heads up pre-flop on this particular table.
Pre-Flop: ($3) (5 players) Hero is UTG with As5sAd4d Hero raises to $4, CO calls $4, BU raises to $19, SB folds, BB calls $17, Hero calls $15, CO calls $15.
Flop: ($77) AcJh3s (4 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, CO checks, BU bets $77, BB folds, Hero raises to $177 (all-in), CO folds, BU calls $100
Yeah just reraise pre SPR will be so low you can shove pretty much every flop and people are priced in even if the flop has an ace.
3 bet a little wider if people always think it's AA and are overfolding. You'll also connect more when the flop isn't ace high and you can c/r and get stacks in.
Even if you're face up the goal is to scoop all the dead money - if you were to re-raise pre here and everyone folds it's a major victory, or if one guy calls that works too. Another thing is if people start 3bing you wide you can 4b wider than AA and now you're heavily disguised or can rep AA when you miss the flop.
