Villian 1 is a tight aggro from what I seen over the last few sessions villian 2 never met but loose aggressive and spewy. Will steal or bet without being near top of his range always.

Hand. Hero has AdAh3h2s in HJ. Straddle on by villain 1. Folds to villains 2 who calls straddle. Folds to hero who raises pot. Villains 1 and 2 call. Flop 7d, 5d,4h. Checks to hero who checks back. Turn A. Villian 1 checks, Villian 2 bets 1/2 pot. Hero raises. Villian 1 reraises . Villian 2 folds. Hero?

So far experience shown this guy won’t check unless passive and bad draw. Also checked down a few pots with single pairs that had some draws. Checks twice and then back raises? Makes no sense from his history.

What should hero do? Is Ad blocker removing potential combo draw lean towards fold. Have boat draw and 3rd but straight but would he back raise with less than 1st or 2nd nuts if he typically is always betting for value? If I’m against straight should be 3:1 dog.

I would call turn because getting 3 bet sucks a lot here.

As played, in my experience, they always have it here. If the board pairs, are you going to get any more money in the pot? Your hand is face up.

Yeah but who checks twice with nut straight twice in PLO with a flush draw board? Especially someone who is always betting for value.

Could it be 3 pair flush draw and straight draw? Maybe same straight as me with boat draw or flush draw?

I’m not sure it’s always the nut straight because I don’t think he would check the nut straight twice or no one would.

The turn is good for your range and he should expect you to bet it quite often. A check raise is enticing.

Even with the aggressive label you have to give Players some credit for seeing what you see too. OTF they were waiting to x/r .. fail as Hero checks back. OTT they recognize two things .. one, V2 could stab at pot and two, Ace hits Hero a ton. Is it risky that Turn will also check through? Yes, but the ability to deny equity to AAxx hands is much greater with a x/r than a lead bet that will just be flatted. This is the only play that will maximize profit since V1 is first to act on River.

You don't mention stack sizes or what their image of you might be. With no Flop action a x/r may be the only option to try and get stacks into the middle. With V1 out of position they should know that they may not get paid on a River lead bet .. so the only way to maximize profit is to x/r Turn. GL

Good point I didn’t mention how much we had or my image. I had played for the most part tight aggressive. Hadn’t shown down too many crazy hands and prelim hand selection for me is important. VPIP estimated around 10-15%. Villian 1 had around 5k. Villain 2 around 1k. Hero around 2k.

That’s a really good point I didn’t think about. Maybe he did have the nut straight.

As played hero calls turn folds river to pot bet. He told me today he had misread his hand and didn’t realize he had the nut straight until the turn when he rechecked his hand. I’ll trust him for now but could be total bs.

I think that explains why he hadn’t bet was he thought he had a straight draw until rechecked after I raised Villian 2.

Raising turn really bad.

Also make note V2 half pot stab fold spew.

Why is raising turn very bad? 3 pair with straight draws or flush draws with a spewy player to stack off. Playing his range and image he could stack off light and be a 80/20 dog in lots of cases? Or I have nut blocker and can get inventive on river utilizing my tight image?

I should only call turn for spewy player? Think it’s better to give him to stack off with enticing draws.

What’s the main reason you think a turn raise is bad? Sizing or overall better to only call after flop checks thru?

I mean, I don’t really need to explain do I? The reason you don’t raise turn is explained by the example you provided.

Couple of people already mentioned it and I guess it’s a really good non technical take away from this thread for everyone, you have to give people some credit for their experience and the A turn gets bet a ton so the nut straight can def go for another check on turn before piling in.
