2/5 PLO FR Live. Villain is old man sitting on about $800 Ive only played 2 hands before this hand, my BB and SB, im new to the game so no reads.

Hero $490 (BTN) JsJdKs5h

Villain (UTG) ~$800

Preflop: Family (8 players) limped pot. Pot $40

Flop: Jh 4d 9h

Checks to hero. Hero bets out $25 get 4 callers.

Turn: 9s

checks around 5 ways

River: 6d

Villian (utg) leads out $100. Folds to Hero, hero makes it $240. Villain Moves all in...

Does Villain ever 3 bet shove me with less than 99 or 9J here in a live $2/5 plo game?

Why check the turn? With 4 people to the turn, ESPECIALLY in a live game, people will call you far more often with hands that are drawing dead and hands that are drawing to 1 out than they will online. People are extra bad live, they are not folding the NFD, 44xx, 9x, and any QT with hh even. If I was HU sometimes I would check it and try to get value on the river, but I would not check this turn 5ways, you lose way too much value imo.

Now that you got to the river, I think you're getting too good a price to fold, I'd call.

99 doesnt make sence villain would probably raise the flop with so many limpers or bet the turn..prob villain has a boat but u have the nut boat so no worries.ofc he shoves worse + missed draw bluffs..
Also u missed some vbet ott

You have 220 left in ur stack and the pot is around 800.
There are two ways of him having J9 and only one way of him having 99.

What were u asking again?

99 makes perfect sense given he bet 3 bet the river. i'd still snap though, you will see worse houses here.

Totally don't know much if anything about Omaha... but if villain has J9 would that not make for a chop pot seeing as you both have the nut boat?

LOL.. sorry just woke up. Just makes me question his fold even more, seeing as only 99 would beat him.

I need a coffee =[

99 is probably one third of his range otr which do make it a snap call.

If he has J9 in his range, you'd want to take out your car keys from your pocked like in Casino Royale and 4bet the worth of your car, because not only do you get the odds, you're a favourite:

board: Jh 4d 9h 9s 6d
Js Jd Ks 5h 65.55%
J9**, 99** 34.45%

So obviously he doesn't even need to be wider than J9+. Seeing that you need under 25% to profitably call here, you can even discount a majority of J9xx hands and still snapcall the **** out of it.

The only thing Im wondering here is that what does hero hand looks like for villain after checking turn and raising river? J9xx should be bottom of villain valueraise range after we lead 5way UTG river so why would we 3bet J9xx here? Making split to fold? :P

but its obviously not a fold. Just if villain was thinking player but we dont have any reads.

i'm not sure of your reasoning behind checking the turn as opposed to betting, esp in a live game.

it's a snap call on the river. worrying about losing with nut full 100BB live or online is just monsters under the bed.
