This player I have played quite a bit with. They bluff a lot, and very rarely "give up". They will often bluff in situations that don't make sense. They very aggro, but better than the average 1/2 PLO player. They also play up to 5/10 PLO.

They probably view me as a bit of a call station in some spots, however that doesn't stop them from bluffing.

Preflop: Hero has A A 9 8 in the sb
3 folds, Villain raises to 3.5BB BTN, Hero 3 bets to 11.5BB from the SB, BB folds, BTN calls

Flop: 9 5 3
Hero checks, Villain bets 18BB, Hero calls

Turn: T
Hero checks, Villain bets 60BB, hero?

What are we doing in this spot?
If I call this turn, I feel like I have to call most brick rivers vs this player.

Would probably just call pre - the deeper you are OOP the less you want to 3b here. I guess these are ok Aces but certainly won't flop too well. Don't see how we can continue on this turn - the way the stack depth plays out on the turn makes this pot look extremely strong.

You need a flop kr range and this is in it.

Fold.

These are tough hands to play IMO, but you've done everything right. Interestingly FlopHero likes to bet the flop if you do not have the A blocker and do not have backdoor clubs, so like A A 9 8 is a mixed bet, but pretty much all other AA98 hands are close to pure checking this board and I think that makes sense. Now, here is where I don't like FlopHero because 3/4 size is a small part of FlopHero range, because it has like 5 bet sizes we get into a narrow range where I am unsure if I trust the output.

Regardless, it's a pure fold on the turn and you have enough 2pr+ hands to not need to continue with 1pr hands in this spot. A fair number of 2pr hands are folding as well, as you should have enough trips and good 2 pair hands to continue.

A question I ask now is what does my range look like in this spot after I 3! preflop from SB, xc flop, and I think it's clear that AA98 is probably near the bottom of your range even though it's such a pretty hand preflop.

I don't think it is. I think we have much better xr candidates here.

Like this hand better as a cbet or check raise depending on how they construct their ranges.

C/c not gonna be good exactly because of the player description.

I would either bet or c/raise this myself on the flop as well. As is such a good card to have with aggressive lines.

Thanks for the input. Given the fact that this particular player is a spewy in some spots and will usually just keep betting in this spots. Does this change things at all for anyone?

On different runout and hands yes but not much creativity to be had with your hand here

Please use $ instead of BB and put pot sizes on each street.

If you really think this guy is potting w/ worse than 98, call and evaluate. I'd probably bet the flop myself or check/raise vs. this player.
